Emerson can obviously be upgraded but with three right backs already at the club it's unlikely we're going to shift one and bring in a shiny new one the same day.

I think we'd all like a creative CM as well but in a World Cup year who's going to come in and battle for two places with five people?!

Yep agree with this.

Posters are losing a bit of reality.

We have a good squad and its about Conte using it effectively, which is always related to trust.

I don't think Conte is playing games with Levy and Paraticu as opposed to maybe not yet having the complete confidence in the options.

For now we are doing okay.
Agree.

Isn't Conte known for not changing his team's unless he absolutely has to ?

So.... is there a single person here, who watched the game yesterday and who would be saying that we DON'T NEED better ball-playing CM ?!?

I am not saying that we should be using someone like David Silva and put him into CM - agreed that it would be too much. But someone like we all hoped Ndombele would turn out to be ?!?

Moyes cracked our gameplan with such an ease. He just let our CMs rise higher and higher and higher with the ball, while setting defensive block deeper. And it could not have worked better. Cause we have no fucking quality on the ball from CMs. Literally there were 0 dangerous situations from positional attack.

Don't come with this prebaked excuse "But, but, but, but Conte wants two workhorse CMs in his setup" - well, then let those players be workhorses then. But technically good workhorses with better passing ability. Cause after yesterday I can guarantee - it will be every bottom-half manager looking this example and letting our CMs rise while clogging the middle of the field, and we will be absolutely powerless.

Our xG across 90 minutes was 0.72 (!!) while theirs was 1.52.
That player was/is supposed to be Bissouma.

He wasn't at his best last night though

I genuinely think Zaniolo breaking his collarbone has screwed things up. I know nowadays we don't hear inside chat so the links might just be clickbait, but it had a degree of realism to it. If they are keen, they are unlikely to go for an alternative, if the alternative isn't quite right. I would however mean they could try again in January, in the scheme of things, if they feel the player and Roma are keen then they might prefer to wait.

Didn't we get gazumped with Diaz, i'm clutching at straws but could we be hoping for a late deal to try and avoid this happening again? or is the reality that you can't sign a player under the radar, as agents and selling clubs whore their players out to try and increase the competition and value?

Are transfers really complicated whereby it's almost impossible to sign a player in a couple of hours?

Does a L2B circumvent all this as you're able to sign someone quickly on a loan, and figure the rest out later, or does all the work still have to be done upfront?

I think Zaniolo breaking his collarbone is luck on our part.

The guy is injury prone so let's hope that is the very end of any interest we may have had.

A club of our stature must have options.
