Apparently our trf window magically became utter "shit" when we were linked with James and the Chavs with Gvardiol....... Does that mean it's regained it's decent status now neither deal is happening?

I think it was always just in decent tier, personally. We've done some solid business & addressed some problem areas but some really big ones are still there. Feels like we've done enough to keep pace with rivals for top 4 but not enough to push us up to anything like title challengers.
How we rating this window then?
Most of us still of the view that “well how can we improve these positions? There’s no one available?”
Funny how other teams - our competitors - identify targets, then sign them. We are incapable of that.
We haven’t addressed CB (x 2), RWB, CM, nor the lack of creativity.
Man City, Man Utd, Woolwich, Chelsea have signed players to improve their first teams. We aren’t able to do that because “no one’s available”.
Another pathetic window. Another window where we have been out spent by almost 50% of the league.

Our defensive transfers: a player who isn’t here, a player who can’t make the squad, a player on loan who has been dreadful for 24 months and who’s parent club want shot of him; and a (granted, talented) wing back who we got on a free but who we will get a max of 2 years out of. And we still have Dier, Davies, Sanchez starting games. It’s astonishing.

How are we doing with the homegrown quota? Can't be too good, especially because the CL squad rules are stricter?
My first thought when we were supposedly in for James was it would be because of this, but then realised I don't think he had 3 full seasons on England before turning 24 so it wasn't even because of that
