Oh I know it was Levy but my point is we didn't do extensive homework on Emerson, it was a last minute thing because of the Takehiro deal didn't work out.
Or Paratici had a long short-list.... Just as he's famed for doing?

Yes it is.
Yes it is.
Conte wants him. That’s all you should concern yourself with
Yeah.
They took time but obviously not as much time as the Takehiro deal.
I didn't say we should sign another Emerson type. I say we wait until we find a player who excels in defence and attack rather than taking a punt on someone like Spence. This special player will take time to find but we'll know him when we see him.So why bother signing anyone?
Conte want's fullbacks who attack, that what part of his gameplay is built on. Doherty is a Conte type fullback, why would we sign another Emerson type, makes no sense. I don't disagree that the fullback needs to be able to defend also and Conte will look for this in who he signs, but he will want someone who will be part of the attacking unit creating and also scoring goals.

Just because we have this £150m it doesn't mean we have to let it burn a hole in our pocket.
I want pretend to be anything close to a football nerd, but I’ve watched a fair bit of him this season and last, enough to mention him as the sort of player we should target about six/seven months ago (not that this means anything). Is Kostic any better than what we have ? Obviously had a standout season, but didn’t really hear from him until this season. Anyone have a better view of him as a player?
That photo has been airbrushed so much she actually looks kind of scary now. A bit gollum ish.
Yeah liked him since he was at StuttgartI want pretend to be anything close to a football nerd, but I’ve watched a fair bit of him this season and last, enough to mention him as the sort of player we should target about six/seven months ago (not that this means anything).
He’s exceedingly aggressive, bombing forward at any and every opportunity. His crossing is good, but perhaps a little overrated. Excellent from set pieces. The total opposite of Sess, who gets a nosebleed when he crosses the half way line ( although he is getting better).
He’s a genuine WB, would be a great addition, especially at the price.
I actually think he tailed off towards the end of season, but perhaps understandable if he’s thinking of a move.
This. Conte has not been the kind of manager who demands only world class players. Yes, there will be one or two on his list with the rest likely being reasonably priced players, but ones that fit his system to a tee.We need to forget marquee signings and get players who will work. Very few marquee signings are also exactly what a team needs unless they're 1 price piece of magic away from greatness
This is like someone next levelled Descarte... You can touch them therefore they are realYou can touch them therefor they are real.
You can even motorboat them.
The upside on Cornet is of course his age, he is 25-26 and in or entering his prime years. And we know that he works in the league. 9 goals for Burnley is nothing to scoff at.

If the aim is to build a team that can compete for the League and the Champions League, we need wing backs who can defend. If their attacking qualities are deficient, they focus on getting the ball to the players who can attack (as Emerson has been doing).
I just don’t want anymore ‘bits and pieces’ players. Can do a job here, but also play there. That’s what our academy can deliver.I am starting to like him more and more...
He has shown quite decent end product over course of 7 seasons now.
Based on info in Transfermarkt he basically started from ST / wide-forward positions and ended in LWB in Lyon. But has played bit of everything. Latter fact should mean he can be versatile and could adapt to new specific role as LWB in Conte's system + has goal awareness in him from playing in attacking positions.
For 17 mil and EPL proven - I think we could do lot worse.
that’s gotta be Linguard right?Sky Sports reporter Paul Gilmour has revealed that the north Londoners have previously rejected the opportunity to sign a talented Premier League footballer since their findings believed that he would be a disruptive influence within the dressing room.
