Ahhh okay ..... Then I obviously misread the bit above where you clearly said we need to sign fullbacks that can defend and quote ". If their attacking qualities are deficient, they focus on getting the ball to the players who can attack (as Emerson has been doing)." Obviously you meant the opposite and I'm just misreading it.

You're not my wife are you?

Is Kostic any better than what we have ? Obviously had a standout season, but didn’t really hear from him until this season. Anyone have a better view of him as a player?
Decisive attacking player, great left foot, spams crosses, good progressive passer into channels from slightly deeper areas, very competitive and good attitude, good finisher and set pieces, good athlete but doesn't physically dominate flank, good acceleration but doesn't have ability to run into space like Reguilon (for comparison, not making a case for Reguilon)... smart enough dribbler without being an excellent dribbler, better than any of our other wingbacks at least.

not great defensively, like -he can tackle a bit and works quite hard but I'd rather have Sessegnon starting vs the likes of Salah, Mahrez.. not much benefit to us defending set pieces.

If we get him I'd be very surprised if he fails to contribute goals and assists. Think his all-round game is not really top level, as in he's a good player, and his moments in danger areas are great, but general play in moving the ball from back to front - and competing for loose balls in midfield etc is short of somebody like Cucurella. I think with Conte's attention to detail and training of shape we'd probably see an improved defensive player. So a definite improvement on Reguilon and a good attacking rotation for Sessegnon who offers more defensively.. would probably be a very good signing, and getting a guy who's just hit his peak for two or three of his prime years. Carrasco, Theo H, Cucurella probably the few I'd have ahead of him, but unrealistic. Wouldn't mind us having a look at David Raum who had similar numbers to Kostic but is probably a better athlete, defender, and is 5yrs younger. (I've not seen much of him and don't really know enough to make a judgment). Sorry, that's lot of words.

Never believe any signing until its on OS ...... but Lilywhite is generally on the money.

One player signed and incoming in May would be great - one less position to stress about !

Fabrizio most probablly eat, sleep and breathe football

Tottenham Hotspur are still in the race for Ivan Perisic this summer, with the Croatian still yet to make a decision over his future.

Football journalist Fabrizio Romano has been speaking on his Here We Go podcast to discuss where the 33-year-old’s future may lie.

Reports from Italy (via SempreInter) have suggested Perisic is close to extending his stay at the San Siro, having entered talks with Inter over a new deal.

However, Romano does not believe these reports are accurate, with the Croat receiving interest from both Spurs and Chelsea ahead of the summer window

Perisic has built up a wealth of experience over the years during his time across some of Europe’s biggest leagues, and it seems he is taking his time to consider what his next move may be.

Romano said: “Someone in Italy is saying that he has already done his contract extension with Inter, this is not true. Perisic has still no agreement with any club. This is important to say.

“He had the meeting, his agents had a meeting with Inter on Monday. In this meeting, Inter improved their proposal to extend Ivan Perisic’s contract, but there is still no green light from the player, and there are approaches from the Premier League.

“We know that Tottenham are interested in Ivan Perisic, and also Chelsea since January with Thomas Tuchel, who is big fan, but also Tottenham.

“So Tottenham and Chelsea are waiting for Perisic to decide. He has a proposal from Inter on the table. And so it’s now up to Ivan Perisic.”

in this moment he would be son's back-up. he can't play as wingback.
so question is: would kostic accept to be a second option in the squad?

if yes, he would be a really good signing (with him in the squad, bryan gil will be loaned again)

£150m cash injection from ENIC, maybe £80m from sales of unwanted players and maybe same again from cash generated this season from matches, TV, sponsorships etc.

But with a shopping list of RWB,LWB, LCB, CM, forward and GK, that's 6 players in and ideally we might even want 8 players if we can find them, and even with that amount of cash we might want/need to spend less on one or two players to get 7 or 8 players in.

Bergwijn has often been rumoured to want to go to Ajax - but that leaves just 4 forwards in Son, Kane, Kulusevski and Moura to cover 60+ games (if we want to go deep in CL), which is too much especially if they pick up any injuries. There's also 5 subs allowed next season so more opportunities.

I think we definitely need another top forward in to compete for a starting position, making it 5 forwards but that's not enough so we need another one (probably making it closer to 8 players in total), which is where we need to look at bargains for the bench, maybe such as :

9 goals in 26 appearances from a team who didn't make many chances. Could be a useful option/cover
