Instantly, if he signs, as a young HG wingback with a 5 year contract, going by premier league prices he would be worth £40-£50mil

Premier League prices, HG, young, will sign for a 5 year contract

Livramento who has been ok for not even a full season is being quoted that Southampton would want around £50mil

Such is the way football is at the moment

Bit more to it than that, fella.....

People are really blowing Doherty's good spell out of proportion and forgetting how gash he has been for the rest of his time here.

No reason to believe he can perform to those levels consistently across a season, especially after just coming back from a very serious injury.

We should be signing an elite, experienced RWB to be our main man and then Spence or whoever as backup.
I agree Spence/Doherty is underwhelming.. but the reason to believe he can play well for us regularly is that he played well for us in the only stretch of time we played him in his position. He's a good wing back, a very poor right back.

this doesn’t make any sense tactically.

Is this a move to a 3-5-2? What happens to Son and Kulu?

If it’s a 3-4-3 then does Kane play out wide?

Is an expensive striker the best use of funds?

Agree on all four points

I wouldn’t be happy with his attitude or work rate either

I don’t know if the source is reliable or not

I'm more interested in if he can hit the ground running, immediately solve the hole we've experienced at RB for 5 years now, and help us win things.

Can't pretend Spence excites me. I've been thoroughly underwhelmed whenever I've watched him play, reminds me of Emerson but with more athleticism. His ability on the ball is very lacking. But hey, if he's Conte approved then go for it I guess.

Understand there's not a plethora of great right backs out there. Just not sure Spence really improves us other than the handy HG factor.

WE'RE NOT SINGING LUKAKU

WE'RE NOT TALKING TO LUKAKU

WE'RE NOT TALKING TO CHELSEA

This is little more than very badly educated guessing by 3rd rate "journalists" to get clicks and shares. Nothing more. Nothing less.

It's more than likely fabricated nonsense, for all the reasons you've mentioned + the fact he would be on big wages & would be a big fee, especially since he would be coming from Chelsea. It's just not happening, the likelihood is he ends up going back to Inter on some loan to buy deal.

exactly.

Mickey please don't fall the Doherty is good now narrative. Poor player made serviceable by great coaches system hiding his flaws just like Emerson. I like him too...more than Doherty and I want both gone. Ali Gold has said Conte wants two new RWB hell the only one he likes is Sessingnon let's for once Just do what the good coach wants.
Doherty’s ‘good spell’ coincides with the only time he was played in his actual position— RWB. He’s a converted midfielder not a defender He was an excellent RWB at Wolves. Square peg, round hole and all that
As for Conté’s ability to spot homegrown talent, it should be remembered that he brought both Ross Barkley and Danny Drinkwater to Chelsea.
