Even though Raphina is more exciting on the ball, I'd probably opt for Richarlison of the two, given a choice. Raphina can look a bit lightweight when things aren't going well. And although Richarlison can be/is an annoying cunt, he never hides.

IMO Richardilson possibly suits us more as he can cover Kane and Son, but he wouldn't provide cover for Kuluevski, which is why I think we should look at two - and Raphina is undoubtedly the more skilled and would cover Kulusevski more.

But if we couldn't get both as there is a lot of competition for forwards that's where we might need to look at the likes of Charles De Ketelaere

His goals to minutes isn't bad at all though. Let's not forget that he was always second fiddle to Aguero who was one of the best of his generation, and was also often played out wide when he did play. If Woolwich make him their main man up front and play him centrally he'll score plenty for them. A massive improvement on Lacazette.

Jesus was Brazil centre forward in about 2018 but decided he preferred playing as a right winger since then - same change at Man City.

So might not be a great plan to push him back into centre if they don't have a back up striker (which they don't). Risk is they end up with their 3 best forwards all being right wingers - Saka, Jesus and if they sign Raphael that's his position too.

Be funny if that's what they end up doing of course !

You're right. And the key phrase you used is quality fwd player.

No more of this back up nonsense or who's gonna be happy to sit on the bench bollocks.

If we're serious about competing for and winning stuff we need to start flexing our financial muscle and start bringing in the calibre of player to actually compete with our front three .
The fact that we seem to be looking at Richarlison and Raphinha does give me some confidence that we appear to be moving away from the "back up" signing, and more looking at players to actually compete with our current front 3.

I've got nothing but love for Son, Kane, and Deki, but a big reason why they're undroppable is because we've got nobody to bring on instead.
Not to say we're currently in the same league as City or Pool but both clubs do show that you can have multiple extremely talented players fighting over the same position. Without attempting to do that we'll always struggle to consistently finish top 4 while also aiming for silverware.

Not suprised......... Evidently passes the bell-end audition:

Great suggestion, Newcastle seem to be chasing him but he is not interested. Has France/Mali dual citizenship, maybe Bissouma can have a word.
Yeah, definitely has potential to be a star player. Not too many who move so quick and have such good technique in shooting and the final pass. €55-60m is risky on a young lad with only the one very productive season in Bundesliga though.

So Woolwich are apparently doing:
- Viera: 35m
- Jesus: 45m
- Raphina: 65m??

145m on 3 forward players without addressing any of their midfield or defensive issues.

Surely the Raphina links are bollocks? Could be them trying to drive the price up to fuck us.

Either way I don't want us to sign him for 65m.

I don’t get what they are trying to do?
Raphinha plays RW the same position as their best player. Jesus best position is possibly RW too and not an out an out goal scorer, although a good player imo. I don’t know much about vieria tbh but from what I’ve read he seems like a no 10 lightweight passer type, which they already have smith Rowe and odegaard

Saka is very good LW, Raphina too. Jesus is very good at most things a centre forward is required to do, he's just iffy at finishing. They're signing good players to be fair, and are targeting an excellent player in L. Martinez, and apparently another midfielder on top of that. They're heading in a pretty good direction, PL teams have no excuse not to really, given the financial advantage it has over other leagues.

Yeah if they get Jesus & Raphinha then they've got some serious firepower with plenty of creators behind them. Can't really comment on some of the players they've been linked to/signed as I haven't seem them play, but they're highly rated players by all accounts.

If the roles were reversed most on here would be excited. Saliba seems to be coming back off a good season too & made the French NT.

Our 3 signings so far are also excellent & Conte is miles clear of Arteta so they don't particularly worry me, but if they get all their targets they should be well in for top four.

Come on you don’t even believe that. Jesus is absolute garbage. He was a backup striker at a team with no striker while scoring 8 goals in the most creative team in the league. Saka is extremely overrated. Martinez is like 5’6”. You just make yourself look silly trying to be “unbias”

Haha. Jesus has averaged 30 apps per season for a team who's won the league title in four of the last five seasons. He's played LW, RW and striker, 86 goal contributions in 160 or so PL games. You're an idiot if you think he's absolutely garbage.

Saka is very good. Martinez is around 5'10 and an excellent player, I'd be delighted if we signed him for lcb.

I’ve got to disagree I think they are spending their budget on good players in the positions their squad doesn’t need. They could end up playing their best players out their best positions while having glaring issues in a number of of other positions

At who's expense? ....Us? .....Chavs?

This assumes that a) those around them will stand still at last year's level and b) all their new guys are a hit.

(Not to mention their back-half are dubiously reliant upon the biscuit-based duo of Partey & Tierney.... It's classic Arse..... Recruitment purely focused on the sexy end of the pitch.)

......We improve simply on the basis that we gave them a head start last season with the Nuno phase. Then imagine us having a full 21/22 with Kulu & Bentancur. + Both our new first XI signings improve us and we're not finished yet.
