I said back up CF (in the post you're replying to).

My bad.

I agree with your suggestions; just think we need another RW too. I've been saying for so long, we need another reliable goalscorer to complement Kane & Son. So far I'm unconvinced that Lucas, Kulu, Bergwijn will be that.

If we transition to 352 that's a non-issue....

I just hope Conte commits to the change before the window closes and targets are locked down.

Dortmund's finances are in serious troubles coming out of the pandemic according to Bild. And they are apparently open to selling up towards 11 players in the summer to get back on their feet. Bild lists the following players as for sale: Bürki, Pongracic, Zagadou, Akanji, Schulz, Brandt, Can, Witsel, Wolf, Hazard and Reinier.

The issue of a third goalscorer still remains in a 352, it puts more pressure on us to acquire CAM (Goncalves style) or goalscoring wingback

I think 352 suits Kuku better in the long term.... Pace and athleticism less of an issue.

We'll have to see what blend of MFs Conte would favour...... Right now tho, Inter would be the most likely blueprint and there was no trad. CAM there.

That's a good point, Kulu would do well in a 3-5-2.

But I'm not convinced he will score that many consistently, so we'll need to look at wing backs for goals and assists too. I'm still frustrated that we didn't address this problem in Jan.

Haaland will be gone as well, didn't think they was that bad as they are being linked the Adeyemi from Salzburg? Not many are the list above that really stands out.

That said, they're only set to get 60m from Haaland.... Tho as I recall, as per some clause; doesn't someone else get a % of that too?

Maybe they'll be forced to let go of Bellingham earlier than hoped.

For all those saying its impossible to do loads of transfers in and out and its championship manager crap, its not if there is the will and some clear direction. In summer 2004 we bought 10 players. Mostly average but Robinson, Carrick, Naybet and Mendes were in there. Summer 2015 we sold 9 senior players. It can be done but we have to be prepared to take hits on outs and act early rather than everything late August. We certainly have to be a hell of a lot better and quicker than anything we've seen in years at this club.

Two competitive centre midfielders are an absolute must. Preferably premier league proven. I won't hold my breath.

Absolutely MUST move on Davies and Doherty and get in a proper RWB and a left sided centre back.

This would be scratching the surface really. Could do with a LWB and a number 10. Not to mention getting rid of shite like Sanchez/Rodon.

Going to be a long, painful process.

Davies won't be going anywhere and rightly so. He's no world beater, but has been solid and reliable this season and Conte will like the fact he can play a number of positions.

A few things:

1. 2004 is a vastly different market to now for multiple reasons.
2. As above highlighted; we need quality. Such deals take time (for all clubs, no "only Spurs") and we'd be up against sterner competition for signatures.
3. 10 in AND 10 out would be unprecedented.
4. Even if we did bring in 10 players; we're creating a gelling problem.
5. Would you rather 5 x 40m players or 10 x 20m players? ....Which one would see us more likely to improve the first XI?

It's not a case of it being "impossible"; it's just not a very smart way to operate.

What i think we should do and what i think we will do are 2 very different things. However i think we need to be aiming for 6 or 7 out and say 5 proper first team ready players and a back up keeper. There are a lot of good free transfers which could help put transfer funds elsewhere. I was merely pointing out we have had very busy summers in the past.

I'm not entirely clear... You DO think 10 in / 10 out is a good idea?

I think we're all united in the idea that we have a lot of work to get done in the summer.

I would not be surprised at all if we target the free agent market quite heavily in the summer.

I'd kinda hope that is the case if Conte has his heart set on a bunch of 30 y/olds.....

Let's then spend what we do have in the kitty on guys that will be around for a while.... Ideally the more 'athletic' positions on the pitch (i.e. WB).
