Eriksen and Bale are not serious players at this point. No serious team should to strengthen themselves with such players. And i'm saying this with all due respect.
We definitely need a lot of changes, as well as quality, and as well as depth.

Maybe not Bale, but Eriksen's impact on Brentford is clear. He'd also be free, in addition to other signings, not just on his own.

I think we have massively missed the type of goals Bale can and freely does score. IE, 30 yarders from nowhere and direct free kicks.
He is perfectly capable of being the player to score a goal to win a game against a side that sits in their own box playing for a 0-0
He doesn't have to be plan A. He just needs 10-15 minutes most games and potentially start in games where we're going to be up against a wall for 90 minutes.
1 year deal with an option for another.

Eriksen I'm not so sold on. He annoyed me with his absence in his last season+ for us.

Deki and Son goals yesterday not good enough for you?

Just not sure his presence is good for squad unity at this point.

He was known for being a shit trainer under Redknapp a lifetime ago, imagine what he's like now!

While the others are busting their gut in a Conte pre-season and he's swanning about. It's not gonna happen.

Lets sign more hungry players with good quality and decent experience. Romero, Kulu and Bentancur is the blueprint to follow.

Basically sign more Juve players.

terrible time for him to get injured. Speculation that it's either a calf or achilles injury.

"Turning around to see who kicked him" is the big sign of an Achilles tear. Sucks for him. Time to move on, then. Kostic!

EDIT: And for me, it's so much Eriksen the player himself so much as what he'd represent what Conte is willing to do. There were games where we struggled in midfield this year that having the 3-5-2 available to us would have been huge (the 1/6 from Brighton and Brentford), but Conte didn't have time to implement it nor the players to execute it. With a full preseason, I think it needs to be available to us for the tactical flexibility, and Eriksen has done it already. Maybe that guy is Eriksen, maybe it isn't. I think Dekki can also play that role, but I don't think he can be the only person in the squad able to do so.

I suspect it hinges on Wales qualifying for the World Cup as to what he wants to do. He won't sit on his arse if he has a World Cup to play in, he'll want to be at his best.

Exactly. Bale is just never fit, is only interested in the world cup, not a Conte player on astronomical wages. Big no from me. Agree on Italy. Our best 3 signings since 2015 have come from there in the last 10 months, its a bit of an untapped market which Paratici and Conte know inside out. A lot more of that please.

Bale also keeps the ball superbly and can help close out a game we are winning

It's not a bottomless pit.... Their finances already weren't in very good shape thanks to years without CL combined with some stupid wage and contract management.

Kronke took a punt on Arteta over the past 2 summers (with scant return), but I wouldn't be at all suprised to see the spending dry up again within the next 12 months.
Close though….. the amount that lot blow on wages and lumpy transfer fees I keep wondering where the bottom of this cash pit lies.

Is it 250m in 2 seasons ? Have they got yet another 100m this summer ? Because I don’t see where they’re going to generate anything substantial in player sales

Close to "bottomless" finances?

Far from it.... £500m bank loan + running at a loss.....

They've gambled big time and it doesn't appear to be paying off.
