I'd take him over Winks any day.
With him coming from his loan spell, and Skipp back from injury, it be like two new midfielders, we only had Skipp for about half a season.
Genuinely torn on this.
I can’t shake the fundamental irony of us replacing Eriksen with….Eriksen.
But I loved him when he was here. I think he was given unfair criticism for that last year, not least because Poch absolutely wore him into the ground playing that fucking awful diamond. Even when he was supposed to have downed tools, he always topped the distance charts. He never stopped running. He just couldn’t hit the ball above knee height!
I haven’t watched much of him at Brentford, but by all accounts he stood out and pretty much saved them from a relegation scrap.
It just seems to make sense. Financially and in terms of what we need. I don’t think that’s sentimentality on our part. Or his, for that matter.
I not denying it may be true but I think if it was true Fabrizio would most probably have gotten a sniff of it. And already back then it was obvious that Conte appreciated Dier and also wanted a LCB. And Skriniar is not seen as a LCB, although I am sure he could play there.
I would imagine we need Conte to confirm his intentions before we start haggling.
How do you know that I haven't consulted him already?

Don’t know if I would blow more than 1/4 of our injected cash on JWP. He’s (obviously) HG and a useful squad addition but, I think, Southampton will ask for 50m to sell to an EPL rival — I know Yawnited are interested — and I can see him costing 35-40m at least. That’s a huge HG Tax for a player basically worth around 25m who won’t improve our first XI
If we’re going to offer silly money for a homegrown midfielder, I’d rather blow the stack on Declan Rice. Yeah, I know it’s a pipe dream.
This really shows how hard it is at times to scout young talent. 3 seasons ago even Real M. was said to be interested in Soumare, as well as Spurs. Now even Leicester doesn't want him...

Fine by me.
Half the time the league seems desperate to crown the champion before the season even begins; it's all part of finding a narrative to latch on to, and so many clubs seem happy to play their part. We need to be proper fucking rude like we were in peak Poch-ball when nobody wanted to play us and more often than not we looked like a team that had been relegated from a higher league.

Have seen him play a few times this season and he will definitely be picked up by a top club soon. Definitely worth a gamble as he is quick, skilful, and has an eye for goal but also likes a tackle and gets stuck in for a young lad. Doesn’t have a settled position yet but has played well in a number of different positions over the course of the season including RW, CAM, CM & RWB. Long term think he will be best as an attacking midfielder personally.
