Perisic has decided to not renew his Inter contract and instead join us.

Really?

Perfect player for us really. Only issue is I don't think he gives us much threat in attacking set-pieces nor is he a dominant defender of them. (and neither does Dier provide much attacking threat). Liverpool, City and Chelsea all clean up with set piece goals. If you play 3cb's all the time, you'd like a few of them to be chipping in with 2/3/4 goals. I think Romero has it in him, to be fair.
I fancy Romero to get > 5 goals next season

Inter having to lose some of their best players to us just shows how strong the premier league money is. Kinda insane. Bastoni honestly could be a game changer to us.

Romero Dier Bastoni - this is a trio that could win any league in the world.

Different type of player.. wouldn't be any spot for him in midfield with a 3-4-3. But yeah, I really like him, would be an good alternative to Eriksen if we plan to play some 3-5-2 next season. I do wonder about his athleticism a bit.
I agree with you that he may struggle in a MF-2 and he would not be on the top of my MF wish list but he could turn into a top player....but then again, there may be a reason why not "big" club have snapped him up yet

Let's assume for a moment that we do sign Bissouma....

Who's your 2 first pick CMs?

Bissouma sits deep so the other player would venture futher forward. Difficult one really, best midfield performances this season I have seen have probably been Skipp’s but there is no guarantee he comes back on fire like that. Probably start Bissouma and Bentancur to begin with.

I’m beginning to think that if the defenders we are signing are all as good as Cutti, that we will never concede again.
Fuck ‘1 nil to the Woolwich’ I think
4 nil to the Tottenham has a sweeter more dulcet ring about it

We need to wait for the criminal investigation to conclude before we even consider YB. Personally I am not sure I am comfortable with him at our club no matter the result of the investigation and prosecution.

Which is why I said not sure. I know that he is innocent until proven guilty but, especially in matters of sexual assault convictions are notoriously hard to achieve and do we want someone who gets off because the victim was drunk/ is an 'unreliable' witness/ has mental health issues etc.
I genuinely don't know how I would feel. What if his accuser was my daughter? There are a lot of writers who have made a good case that the justice system doesn't serve sexual crimes well. (Bindel being the most visible) yet I also agree that innocence until guilt is proven is vital.

I'll be honest, I know someone who was arrested for sexual assault even though he didn't do a thing which wasn't non consensual but yet they still had to investigate it, couldn't leave the country, took his phone away etc...only to be thrown out due to lack of evidence after 6 months, it was complete bullshit.

These things aren't as cut and dry as you're making out especially since there's [people out there who target footballers for ransom, if you're going to judge you need to be fair on both sides.

With these cases you just have to trust the CJS, it just is what it is.

I stand by the 'if found innocent, he is innocent' view. Otherwise our justice system is worthless and people will continue to have their names dragged through the mud and their lives destroyed, for no reason.

Agree that we should wait for the investigation to be concluded, or have an agreement in place for IF he's found not guilty.

Just to be SUPER pedantic (so by all means tell me to do one), but our justice system doesn't assert innocence.

We have the presumption of innocence until proven guilty, but a court's verdict will be either guilty or not guilty.

This is because of the burden of proof. The prosecution are the ones making the claim that the defendant is guilty of the charges being brought against them, and therefore they bare the responsibility of meeting the burden of proof to substantiate that claim.

When a court finds a defendant not guilty, it's not because it has been proven that the defendant is innocent, but because the prosecution couldn't sufficiently demonstrate the defendant's culpability.

I agree that when found not guilty we need to accept the verdic, but it only absolves a defendant of the charges as specified during that particular case.
It doesn't demonstrate that absolutely no offence was commited whatsoever (hence why the verdict is not guilty, rather than innocent), so I think it's fair for some people to still have their reservations despite a not guilty verdict for the specific offence being discussed in the courts.

Does this make any sense or am I being a complete cock? Possibly both. Whatever. COYS and all that.

You are probably right and I hope I didn't present it as cut and dried. Sexual crimes are one of the law's big grey areas owing to the difficulty in proving consent, informed and current etc.
