Perisic would be a great addition, watched him a few times this season and he's class. Would add great experience too which could bring out even more in Ryan Sessengon who I think the club will really want to make into a fantastic player.

Spurs making signings earlier in the window? Strange feeling. I don't know how to react...

Can't imagine how many days and nights he'd had Levy on the rack. The poor bugger must be looking like a bald peter crouch.

Inter fan here
I'm not convinced Bastoni will succeed in England. He plays in a very Italian manner and I think Serie A compliments him perfectly while England may expose some weaknesses. Despite his size he's also pretty soft for a center back. He needs to be much nastier.

Thanks for that.
That's kinda the thoughts I felt watching his highlights.
Does he like it up him, Captain Mainwaring or is he any good in aerial battles?

Allegedly (or so I read somewhere) we bought Gough for say £700k and Rangers bid £1m (making him first ever Scottish £1m player) which we felt we couldn't turn down making a healthy profit after one season as player wanted to leave for prestige reasons.

Huge shame for us
How we could do with gough now with his leadership qualities . Uptime times upgrade on dier.

It is said Spurs will be in the market for 2 central defenders if they are able to move on one of Sanchez/Tanganga along with Rodon.

Bastoni and a PL veteran like Tarkowski would be great!

And if Levy is able to flog off Winks for 25 mil, then really don't see why milinkovic-savic can't be lured into joining Conte's project
Why get rid of two youngsters in Rodon and tananga fir the Burnley player. What is the sense in that?

WHEN CONTE KICKED PERISIC OUT AND POTENTIAL REUNION AT TOTTENHAM

by Susy Campanale | May 27, 2022 19:33

Antonio Conte is on the verge of reuniting with Ivan Perisic at Tottenham Hotspur, but their rapport at Inter got off to a disastrous start. ‘I don’t think he can give the team what it needs.’

Multiple sources this evening including Sky Sport Italia, Sportitalia and the Daily Telegraph claim that Perisic is ready to turn down a new contract at San Siro and instead join Spurs as a free agent.

It’s suggested that Conte specifically asked for the Croatia international during today’s summit with director Fabio Paratici.

While Perisic did turn into a key figure in the 2020-21 Scudetto-winning campaign, he was on the verge of being sold because he did not fit into Conte’s tactics.

In fact, he was loaned to Bayern Munich for the 2019-20 season after Conte’s comments in July 2019, just a few weeks after taking over at the club.

“Perisic did try to do what I asked, but I have negative sensations and I don’t think he can give the team what it needs. We need to evaluate things carefully.

“I cannot complain about his effort and dedication, but there are roles to be respected. You cannot change the characteristics of a player, even if he tries.”

Perisic won the Bundesliga at Bayern and returned from the loan in 2020-21, going on to prove he could adapt from his traditional role on the left of a trident attack to cover the whole left flank in a 3-5-2 formation.

“We sent Perisic to Bayern because he was not prepared to do the defending work I had asked for. He returned with a different mentality,” said Conte in May 2021.

“I asked him the same things as last season, but he showed that he has extraordinary characteristics and needs to believe in himself more.

“The moment he started doing that, he started to play. He can be even more decisive.”

This season, Perisic scored 10 goals and provided nine assists in 49 competitive appearances for the Nerazzurri.
So Conte was so hacked off with Perisic not doing the defensive work he loaned him out.
Perisic adapted, returned to Inter willing to do the dirty work. And now it seems they're besties.

Same with Eriksen. Conte said he was the board's signing, and hardly played him for the first few months. But then Eriksen adapted and won Conte's confidence.

We have ambitions to win trophies next season, and signing players who already know Conte's physical & tactical demands makes perfect sense.
