Bastoni position seems pretty simple :
- Inter have very big debts and need to raise money by selling a player.
- Bastoni is one of their most valuable players, and with only 2 years left on his contract Inter needs to sell now or risk contract running down to 12 months and his value reducing.
- Bastoni likes Conte but feels no particular need to move from Inter atm.
- Inter could raise money by selling Bastoni and replace him with Bremer, and that seems to be the way things are seen by Inter.
This is likely to end with Inter telling Bastoni they cannot afford to keep him, and time to move club.
The fact that the bid has got this far means Spurs will have (with Inter's permission) have been speaking to Bastoni's agent to agree wages, fees etc and that appear to have been done.
Bastoni also probably wants the club to give him a nudge so he can say to fans 'I never wanted to leave you' .
IMO this transfer will go through fairly quickly (might be delayed to internationals going on right now), although a small chance it won't, ad at that point we move on.
But its still early June, so might be mid June (after internationals) before deal finally goes through
Meanwhile Inter are starting on their summer business of signings - and will want Bastoni's wages off their books soon.
