Agree re Richarlson covering Kane or Son. Thought you meant sign Rich, and another 9 (assuming Lucas stays).
My problem with the people that would rather use Son as cover for Kane is that okay he can turn and shoot well, he can also get past a defender. That's not the issue for me, the issue is it's going to limit our attacking play because he can't hold the ball up like CFs Kane/Richarlison etc... and he's not much good in the air, so it means our wingbacks are going to be wasting their time with providing balls for an aerial threat.

But yeah if the ball does break for Son he's as good as anyone at scoring the goals, I just think winning the 50/50 balls is a separate skill that is a trait of a CF, I don't see that as a strong part of Son's game.

Alright fun police

Ref: Lucas

It's clear to see the sentiment across the fanbase. He has pulled it out the bag a couple of times for us. Keeps his head down, appears to be a good trainer and doesn't kick up a fuss. I don't however see much of a place for him, and coming on late where possession is key he's weak. If we could flip for £15-£20m I would thank him and be left with fond memories. If his contract ran down, I wouldn't hold it against him.

I just feel we could use his fee and place to better effect.
If he said he wants to sign an extension only a few weirdos would have a problem, he is very popular.

He said he wants to go though, and he is not so important that it's worth keeping him for a year then watching him walk for nothing.

I'm not sure why people are so happy for him to run down his contract.. football isn't a charity. He's a decent player, very talented, but he's scored 5 goals in his last 64 league games. If we want to challenge we need better players. There's nothing wrong with wanting to move him on and bring in a player 5/6 years younger who might provide more for us on the field. And I like him more than I did this time last year, or the year before. Just don't think he's quite good enough.

If he doesn't want to leave what are we meant to do?

Given the amount of trf activity penciled in for this summer; I don't see him leaving as a priority.

His upside exists beyond his goal tally and he is good enough to be a 5th/6th choice option.

Why is pep so fixated on cucurella? He has fucking cancelo and zinchenko at LB already.
Figure they might start to play a bit differently at times. Cancelo cuts in a lot, plays a bit of a playmaker role. Zynchenko doesn't really get beyond the defence, plays and passes well from a deeper position. Cucurella would provide overlapping runs and infield runs that the other two don't. They might be looking to create different kinds of chances next season given they have Haaland at striker. And then Cancelo might play a bit more at rb.

People can disagree with this all they like. But it's true.
The direction Moura runs in, is dictated by the direction the ball bounced off of him. Which could be any direction. Sometimes that can be useful. If he's unpredictable, he's hard to defend against.

I think it is fair to say that if Moura doesn't know which way he's going to go, how the hell are the opposition supposed to!

Make it clear to him that he's bottom of the pecking order and not going to play more than a few minutes all season unless we have some kind of injury crisis.

And if that doesn't work then what?

Going be what I've read he's happy to stay in London until his contract runs down, his career is slowing down and it sounds like he has setup his career path to return back to his home country in 2 years he isn't trying to play more football, can't do fuck all about that apart from respect his wishes.

If he's told he won't play and we want to sell he'll likely change his mind. He'll get one more decent move for a chunk of money. The move back to Brazil will still be there. Joe Hart didn't want to leave but we forced him out. Toby seemed happy to stay 12 months ago ditto Lamela.

Again, all well and good saying we will sell but the player needs to want to leave the club, doesn't sound like he does.
