Rashford absolutely murdered us 2 seasons ago. I think hes just been out of form- likely demoralized from having to kiss Ronaldo's ass all day...

I agree though, I don't see United doing any better than 6th this next season, on current signings...

Rashford has been very poor for England as well - without Ronaldo ....

Really don't know where ManU go with their current set of forwards who include Rashford, Greenwood (currently banned from training), an out of form Sancho, Ronaldo who seems to need every pass to go to him, an aged Cavani, Lingard leaving on a free etc. And their E u19 star Shortire dropped from the current squad, not sure why though ......

Almost nobody up front to build an attack around

Ten Hag wants Eriksen and De Jong as priorities

Dutch journalist Marcel van der Kraan speaking on Sky Sports News:
"Erik Ten Hag has made it so clear to the Man United board that he wants both Frenkie de Jong and Christian Eriksen. If they don't get those two players, it would be a breakdown of his ID and his model and his style at Man United

We must get Eriksen. Let's fuck man united as hard as we can.

Rushford looks like a man who has fallen out of love with the game.

Forget performances, look at his face. He's not happy.

Yeah, I really don't like doing the whole 'armchair psychologist' shtick but he looks full on depressed. May not actually be the case but that's how it comes across. Plays with zero fire at all, he used to be inconsistent/raw but the energy & threat was always there. For a while it really looked like he was hitting his stride, 17 goals 7 assists from the wing in 19/20 and then in 20/21 he scored 6 goals in 5 CL games.

There was definitely a player there, a bit of a budget Mbappe if you will. But I have no idea if Ten Haag (or anyone else) can actually get him motivated again.

Always amazes me that every season some random name/s pops up in the transfer thread and within seconds there are a dozen posters in the thread who know everything about them and their potential competitors.

I don't know how they keep up to be honest.

They'd probably never heard of the player before either ... they read the players name in an article, dashed off, did a Danny Rose, Googled them, and posted their "research" as their own opinion in order to make them appear knowledgable to the rest of us clueless fuckwits lol

Difficult he was never that naturally talented, he didn’t have the smooth skill/control of say Martial who he deposed in the team (another lazy player like Ndombele) he was a player full of hard work, good athleticism and strong character.

Issue is he isn’t good enough to be an elite player on talent, he has always had some flaws in his game but as you say his energy was great. If he is not 110% committed I think he will struggle and perhaps will need to move down a level:

I’ve never really been convinced he’s that good. Lots of clubs would have moved him on by now if they weren’t a mess like Man U.

He's only really had one poor season at the club though. Every other season he's contributed double figures for goals from out wide, with a good handful of assists too. He's always been a bit patchy but not sure many clubs would have moved on a HG player who puts up those numbers.

Last season was truly horrific though. Fell off incredibly badly.

His dribbling was underrated imo, he had trickery to get past players, particularly when he broke through. Definitely not as silky as someone like Martial, but enough technique combined with lots of athleticism made him really dangerous, particularly in some big games vs high lines. I remember him absolutely murdering TAA once & coming off the bench in the CL to score a hat-trick vs Leipzig.

But you're right, not enough talent to coast off ability alone. But then even Martial with all said talent has completely gone off the boil. Honestly no matter how much ability there is, if the motivation is gone at this kind of level then you can't compete. Rashford hasn't looked motivated for a while now.
