Hmm. Richarlison and Lenglet would be good signings. Raphinha and Lisandro Martinez would be better.

The defenders I cant comment on but Richarlison for me would be the more impactful player. Raphinha is a much better YouTube player, he is silky with a lovely long range shot, Richarlison can do a bit of everything though and fights like his life depends on it.

As confirmation, link to the paperwork filed at Companies House on Friday 24th although the transaction started at end of May, although only became complete and official on Friday.
Release the hounds👍👍

They owe money on Dele as well, it was rumoured at £20m, I wonder if we can stall payments, maybe loan Winks on a loan to buy and a few other things to help their FFP maybe sweeten the deal for Richarlison.

How exactly does loaning them Winks lessen their losses for last season?

.......Similar question given their predicament; they would want as much cash as possible for Richarlison?

I highly doubt Dele triggered any payment clauses last season...... No goals and scant game time.

Not talking about payment clause more payments for the principle. Transfers normally get spread out so if it’s £20m with 10m being before 30th of June then we push it futher along.

I see where you are coming from and agree about overpaying where necessary. I personally don't believe those two are worth it but happy to be proved wrong. Recent history suggests backing whatever Conte/Paratici bring in and not worrying about star names or massive price tags. For every Kulu see Ndombele, for every Van Dijk see Maguire.
Completely agree but if there’s a player they really want and he’s a premium price > market value, pay it. One-off is fine for the right player

He was never the main man at City though. At Woolwich he will be seen as the CF with the primary burden of goalscoring, and he will start every game. It's a wait & see game over whether that will lead to an improvement in his goal record despite playing for a worse team. Lots of players for worse sides score more goals if they have a larger role.

And if they sign Raphinha then they'll have him, Saka, Odegaard, Vieira & ESR as a support cast .. plenty of creators.
With the Raphina signing they have better attacking depth but still can't put out a front 3 close to our main men, that's the difference.

We really need to add quality to our supporting cast.

Basically we have a better first 11 but they have more depth in attack. We get Richarlison and we have some depth, probably just need one more unless Lucas is staying.

Or they didn't want Spurs. It's a well-known fact that Raphinha's clear 1st choice is Barca - if their finances were in order Spurs wouldn't have a chance (nor any other club).
PS! Chelski are still above on the pecking order...but the gap is being reduced.
Yes Barca ahead in the pecking order if they can fi d funds. There has always been a pecking order and Woolwich used to be ahead of us by a distance but happily are now behind us. Utd too, now not clear if ahead or behind as they are still a bigger club just not doing well, not in CL. Chelsea still ahead no doubt though as you say gap is now smaller. We can hope they might fall behind us over the coming years.

In some cases, yes. Imo though this is more when there is too much change in the form of players who - almost - automically slots into the first 11.

Our top players - Kane, Son, Hugo, and arguably 1 or 2 more - will want to start competing at the top end of the table and have a real shot at a cup. They'll know that squad depth absolutely needs to be adressed, also broader than your suggestion. As will everyone in our squad.

The only player we've signed so far who automatically slots into our starting line-up is Perisic, and you could make the argument that he'll be the only one, no matter what happens. Bissouma will need to take a spot from Skipp, PEH, Bentacur. Whichever one or even two attacking will need to duke it out with Kulu for starts plus rotation starts. Even if we sign a top class CB then Dier and Davies has earned that it's their spot to lose.

I'm completely convinced that the whole squad understands this. Those who didn't have already been put to one side. If Davies, just to single out the most vulnerable starter from last season, wants glory, he'll have to be good enough to see off competition for his spot from top level signings, and of course he respects this fact. Otherwise Conte wouldn't have started him every match.

Even 5-6 more signings will not be an issue imho.

Bissouma will slot straight in. He's better than anyone else we currently have

I read it’s a free transfer until he starts 10 PL games and then £10M is triggered and so on and so on.
I think it’s £10m once he plays 20 games (not starts), so he should hit before the end of the year with any luck. There were other add ons but I can’t remember whether they were appearance or performance based.

My tone above looks a bit dejected, I kinda just meant it as a flat statement. Richarlison is obviously good and will improve us over the course of a season. Do fully believe Raphinha would be more of a difference-maker for a few reasons.

While we definitely need a strong rotation for both, Kane and Son are a lot more undroppable than Kulu. RW probably the first position subbed in a flat performance, or to be rotated when in poor form.

Raphinha is a better player than Rich. Better touch, dispossessed much less, cleaner passer, creates more chances for others, great set-piece taker, he has star quality. He's more adept playing on the left side than Richarlison is on the right. Both work hard off the ball, Richarlison the better of the two in that regard. Richarlison a heading threat at set-pieces. And can play decently as a striker.

Just think Raphina is a higher calibre of player. Fully understand people who think Richarlison is the better fit for us, I just think the difference in quality between the two will become quite apparent when they move to a higher level.
Edit: this looks very harsh on Richarlison, I do think he's very good and like him as a player.

Again from what I read there was another big payment that’s appearance based to take it up to 20-25M. Can’t see that happening so he was essentially a free
