My tone above looks a bit dejected, I kinda just meant it as a flat statement. Richarlison is obviously good and will improve us over the course of a season. Do fully believe Raphinha would be more of a difference-maker for a few reasons.

While we definitely need a strong rotation for both, Kane and Son are a lot more undroppable than Kulu. RW probably the first position subbed in a flat performance, or to be rotated when in poor form.

Raphinha is a much better player than Rich. Better touch, dispossessed much less, cleaner passer, creates more chances for others, great set-piece taker, he has star quality. He's more adept playing on the left side than Richarlison is on the right. Both work hard off the ball, Richarlison the better of the two in that regard. Richarlison a heading threat at set-pieces. And can play decently as a striker.

Just think Raphina is a higher calibre of player. Fully understand people who think Richarlison is the better fit for us, I just think the difference in quality between the two will become quite apparent when they move to a higher level.
Edit: this looks very harsh on Richarlison, I do think he's very good and like him as a player.
The big thing you get with Richarlison, beyond technical quality, is that never say die attitude. It can lift the whole team. Think he would be a great sub actually, to inject energy and change the game. Raphina I suspect will be less consistent. Rich definitely more of a Conte player I think.

You can have Ronaldo in there, you just have to compensate with players who drop back and will also press from the front. He's very useful at the very least as a squad option who is lethal in front of goal and offers an aerial threat .. he tore us apart twice this season.

I'm just not sure him & Fernandes together works.
I am not arguing that on his day he's still a top player but as times go on he's less and less like to get the VIP treatment he once enjoyed at Real M. and to some extent at Man Utd.
There's a good reason why Real M. let him go ....and why Juve also let him go...
But Ronaldo doesn't seem like a player who can help team "morale" when his team's going thru a rough patch.

Buffon: 'Juventus lost their DNA after Ronaldo's arrival'

Juventus great Gianluigi Buffon said Cristiano Ronaldo's arrival at the club in 2018 ultimately led to them losing their "DNA of being a team".

Gianluigi Buffon said Cristiano Ronaldo's arrival at the club in 2018 ultimately led to them losing their "DNA of being a team".

Ronaldo, now back at Manchester United for a second spell, scored 101 goals in 135 appearances for Juventus
and won Serie A twice but the club did not progress beyond the Champions League quarter-final stage during his three years there.

"When I returned, I worked with Ronaldo for two years and we did well together, but I think Juventus lost that DNA of being a team.

"We reached the Champions League final in 2017 because we were a side full of experience, but above all we were a single unit and there was this competition for places within the group that was very strong. We lost that with Ronaldo."

Juventus are fifth in Serie A, 12 points adrift of leaders Inter Milan, and host third-placed Napoli on Jan. 6.

Ronaldo wanted to leave Madrid. They demanded a huge fee. I honestly think Buffon was making poor excuses for their failures (easy to blame an outside influence) when really the squad had been on the decline for a while and his mates in the team were getting old.

They're no better post Ronaldo, in fact they finished with 8 less points than they did in 19/20. Madrid also didn't get better when they lost him, they finished 3rd. It took some fresh purchases & improving players to get back to where they are now.

(Seriously, we got to the CL final in 2017 but Ronaldo came and then we didn't? Nonsense. Your team was better then, Buffon. Ronaldo won the CL final over and over again, scoring key goals in the process .. blaming him is petty.)

I can see us bringing in richarlison, Spence and a defender (Bremer/lenglet/Torres/bricks/Etc)

Then late in the window a fuck off 75M style bud for joao Felix or done crazy shit like that

Aly Gold says that Conte wants "an attacking midfielder". Wonder if that is a CAM or a CM who's more creative than those at Spurs right now... 🤔
A top-quality "creative" CM would cost a lot as they are so rare and thus very "precious" for any team having one.

Tottenham take out £100m from ENIC cash injection to put towards transfer window

Spurs have already signed three players since the end of the season in Brighton midfielder Yves Bissouma, in a deal which could eventually be worth more than £30m, plus Inter wing-back Ivan Perisic and Southampton goalkeeper Fraser Forster on free transfers. Conte wants further additions to his squad in the shape of potentially two new centre-backs if a current one departs, a right wing-back, an attacking midfielder and a striker.

Attacking mid I think means a 10, an Eriksen, Maddison type, or a wide attacker that can come inside and cause havoc ie Raphinha, Paqueta, Saint Maxim. Basically a player that operates in the attacking third. Centre mid is sorted with the 4 we have.

But then you have players like Fabián Ruiz and, as you did mention, Lucas Paquetá, who can both operate centrally but also in more advanced positions.
I would believe that Raphinha and Saint Maxim would count as strikers. IMO they do. But, anyway, Conte may have a different take on it

not really enamoured with rich especially if we are shelling 60 mill on him

dont think he has much potential either, think he is already at his limit

its one of those where i think if Woolwich got rich i wouldnt care, whereasif they get raphinha then im concerned a little

we need someone who can unlock these shit teams andi cant see rich doing that

hope im wrong

We have already got lock pickers in the forward line, Kane and Kulusevski are very smart players. If your looking for a lock picker deeper Raphinha wouldn’t be that he is a winger like Kulusevski.

Maddison would be the obvious target if you wanted a player who could create a chance out of nothing.
