So an RWB (Spence ?) looks highly desirable and another CB and forward desirable as is another of the incomings being HG

Think it's around 3m with add-ons bringing it to ten.. probably apps for club, promotion bonus etc. He's a better player than most here give him credit for, probably won't reach 10m but he's decent.
 
Obviously irrelevant today, but Barca must have thought they'd landed the nut's when they bought him.

The Catalan club signed Lenglet from Sevilla for 35.9m euros (£32m) in 2018 and added a 300 million euro (£265m) release clause to his contract.

Investor and financial analyst surely do not know about risks. Random blokes in forum do.

It is reported that we would pay 170 kpw (£).
Which makes him one of the highest paid defenders in the league. And 3rd highest payed player in Spurs right now.

So basically to get our money worth honestly - he would have to be 3rd best performer for Spurs. If he does not, we are paying top buck for dud. And we have 100% sure obligation to pay it.

Its 4 weeks since the Transfer Window opened on 10 June .......... and about 7 weeks until it closes at end of August.

The squad is very much stronger than the one we ended the season with - and could get stronger still. After an RWB (possibly Spence), we might get a top CB (if available and another forward (possibly a creative AM to cover Kulusevski) - but the last two would be 'nice to have' to round off a great transfer window, rather than essential.

So if Kane, Son and Romero perform better than him over the course of a season he's a dud?

What metic are we measuring this against, goals scored? Assists? Key passes or interceptions?

But much lower risk as a loan than buying him outright now.

ATM it looks like our favoured way forward is to buy one or more 'top' CB's next summer, although if one became available before this window closes we might well buy.
