Welcome to Spurs Torres 🙏

Not kidding there’s still people under the aggregators asking “ffs when are we going to spend big?” We literally spent over 50 mil for Richarlison.

Spending big doesn’t always equal quality. Look at Maguire, White, Ndombele etc.

These morons would absolutely spunk 100 mil on Gvardiol after one alright season in a inferior league.
We need quality players, game changers, marquee signings, they don't come cheap, you have to spend, listen and do to what Conte wants. Assuming you want success on the pitch.

OH yea...
Investor and financial analyst surely do not know about risks. Random blokes in forum do.

It is reported that we would pay 170 kpw (£).
Which makes him one of the highest paid defenders in the league. And 3rd highest payed player in Spurs right now.

So basically to get our money worth honestly - he would have to be 3rd best performer for Spurs. If he does not, we are paying top buck for dud. And we have 100% sure obligation to pay it.
So that’s like 8 mil? Pretty tame compared to going with another option that might include a transfer or loan fee AND 4-5 years worth of salary which could total 10x that. There’s very little risk in a short term player loan In comparison. The downside is little reward because we don’t have option to buy. But that doesn’t make the risk high…

High risk is the Ndombele signing. Or even Romero… but that worked out much better and there was some sort of option/obligation that mitigated risk if we missed CL.

I'd say Perisic, Bissouma and even Richarlison are game changers in what they offer and how they have given us a massive upgrade. Spence could possibly also be a massive upgrade although that one is a little more shaky.

Slowly we are building a squad that is versatile and has depth. This is a millions times better than the window we signed the 7 creeps with the Bale money. There is such a clear and intelligent plan here , and that's something we have lacked- even when we have spent money.

Fab and Conte are undoing years of dodgy recruitment within one summer. If they can get rid of the deadwood as well, it would be unbelievable.

I don't see this too much of a job to do. I am however surprised that Winks hasn't gone yet.

I'd just assume that the focus has been on getting as many of the purchases done as possible before the pre-season tour. That will have been an all important factor for Conte....

The fact we were sat on the fabled 150m meant there's was no 'sell-to-buy' necessity delaying things.

Our transfer window so far :

Ivan Perišić ✔️
Fraser Forster ✔️
Yves Bissouma ✔️
Richarlison ✔️
Clement Lenglet ✔️
Djed Spence - Work in Progress

Its 4 weeks since the Transfer Window opened on 10 June .......... and about 7 weeks until it closes at end of August.

The squad is very much stronger than the one we ended the season with - and could get stronger still. After an RWB (possibly Spence), we might get a top CB (if available and another forward (possibly a creative AM to cover Kulusevski) - but the last two would be 'nice to have' to round off a great transfer window, rather than essential.

I think if you can cut through the bollocks and read a good media source or two, likely another CB/RWB and fucking great cherry on top of the cream possibly an AM.

In almost fifty years of being a Spurs supporter i cannot think of a better, more planned for now, and the future, transfer window.

The magnificent seven pale into insignificance compered to what Paratici has achieved, and we haven't needed to sell one of our studs in order to finance one of them.

So the squad (as of today) looks like :

GK's - (3) Lloris, Forster, Austin
CB's - (6) Romero, Dier, Davies, Sanchez, Lenglet, Rodon
FB's - (4) Royal, Doherty, Persic, Sessegnon
CM's - (4) Bissouma, Bentancur, Hojbjerg, Skipp
Fwds - (5) Kane, Son, Kulsevski, Richarlison, Moura

Total 22 Players
Club Trained Players - Kane, Skipp, Austin, (3)
Other Association Trained – Sessegnon Forster (2)
Overseas trained (retained) - Lloris, Romero, Sanchez, Dier, Davies, Bentancur, Hojbjerg, Kulusevski, Son, Moura, Doherty Perisic, Bissouma, Richarlison, Lenglet, Royal, Rodon (17)

For Sale/Loan :
Reguilon, Lo Celso, Ndombele, Gil, Sarr, Winks, Tanganga

So an RWB (Spence ?) looks highly desirable and another CB and forward desirable as is another of the incomings being HG
Isn't Royal for sale too?

- We have quality.
- We have game-changers.
- "Marquee signings" is just a load of guffy Jim White-ism.

Rich - 50-60m
Romero - 50m
Ndombele - 60m
Lo Celso - 40m
Sanchez - 40m
= We're prepared to spend if we want the player.
