Biggest takeaway from pre-season so far...... There's a lot of emphasis on Perisic & Spence (eventually) to elevate our WB game.

Only a friendly, but Moura didn't do a lot aside from running around. Lost the ball often, and as usual ran down blind alleys.

Squad player, and early round Cup player. The end of the day he only has this season to go.
He’s awful out wide in the final and middle thirds, let alone the defensive third. He’s far more effective centrally

I want him gone, don’t give a damn if he smiles a lot…. He’s a toxic influence on our style of play, smile away baldie and run down a blind alley away from Spurs

Agreed signed a lot of players that summer.

Problem was I couldn't always distinguish between players signed for first team and those signed for development sometimes. But 'Funtime Fridays' was a great innovation

I still can't tell who was first team or not bar a small few.

If Lucas is going to play there then the cross has to come in earlier. He was taking too long and too many touches today I thought.

He can't cross for shit. And crossing isn't the be all and end all. I guess depending on your definition of a cross. A cross for me is head high and from distance. I think this system relies more on cur backs, passes into the box and shots from the wing backs. Crosses are more for when the opposite wing back is attacking the far post.

Ali Z is a fucking moron. If he said the sky was blue he'd somehow be wrong.

Top quality at wing back would make a big difference. I'd say Sessegnon has been a positive though. First and foremost he's fit/injury free. He looked quite sharp, willing to take on the last man and has crossed it fairly well. He's getting better as he gets fitter, stronger and trusts his body more. So if he stays injury free, I think he will have a good season. And having Perisic ahead of him in the pecking order takes a bit of pressure off him in some ways.

Spurs proper drag transfer announcements don’t they? I know we all know it’s happening, but ffs hurry up you cunts!!!

I know... I mean; myself and tommyboyspurs tommyboyspurs literally haven't slept for nearly a full week at this point!

I think I'm headed for a break-down way before the window finally closes. :conteshock:

Admittedly, it's only pre-season, but it feels like we're treading water in terms of our evolution into full-on Conte-ball..... We're still playing 21/22 Conte-ball lite atm and it feels like the emphasis remains on Harry playing quarterback for the other 2 fwds; which isn't really the end game (rather, just a fortunate additional option due to Harry being a beast).
