Richarlison is the signing I like the least this summer.

I get the thinking about how he provides cover for all 3 as well as playing with Kane in a 3 5 2, but I am just not sold that he is the quality many here think he is. I didn’t watch the Korean games, just the highlights and those did nothing to improve my view of him.

£60 M seems an awe full lot For him in my view.

Still hoping I am wrong though.

Our new moody prick is the one I question but I can only hope I’m wrong…..

You insisting on calling him a "moody prick" doesn't suggest your're too open to a change of heart or a genuinely clean slate.

.....Especially cos since he arrived he's seemed like a good natured lad; up for a laugh and defensive of his fellow team-mates when on the pitch.

What a pointless post.

No idea why people get hung up on this idea of 1st and 1nd XI being some terrible thing.

It is the best way to show a squad's depth. Of course I know 11 changes between games are very rare but it nevertheless displays the optionality to completely remove your 11 BEST PLAYERS FOR THEIR RESPECTIVE POSITION and still field a strong team.

We should never have a best 11 and then a 2nd 11.
That's not how you win titles. You win titles by having more than 11 players who totally deserve to start every game. You then change them depending on work loads or potentially due to their suitability for the next game.
Unlike the last 2 seasons, we're not going to see a completely changed 11 in the cups. 2 or 3 changes game to game to a) give all the deserving players game time and b) keep all of them fresh.

A 2nd 11 is useless. It's why we were useless for years when we made more than 2 or 3 changes, and why for half a season, Conte picked almost the same 11 every week - no one else was good enough to start.

If a "team picks itself" then that's a sign your bench is shit.

Can’t wait for the victory parade then.

That's definitely Alasdair Gold in the yellow hat.

Yep - I'd rather we focus on getting someone like Maddison in, and then IF a quality CB is available, go for them (and I'm ok with us waiting til next summer for that if we have to).
Yep, exactly what i hope we do. Get Maddison (or similar) in before the season starts and then we can be opportunistic on the centre back. If clubs get desperate, which Inter might, we can go for a top choice. If not better to wait.

Bryan Gil continues to have his future at Tottenham Hotspur undefined, another club are now listed as a potential destination for him.
According to reports from Italy, Sampdoria are interested in landing the 21-year-old and already started working on the signing.

Outlet Club Doria 46 writes that director Daniele Faggiano is now back to an ‘old goal’ he already had.

Bryan Gil is said to not be in Antonio Conte’s plans, and Tottenham could be ‘open to a loan’.

It’s reported that the clubs are ‘working to complete the negotiation’, with Spurs continuing to pay for part of the player’s salary during the spell.

Club Doria 46 recalls that contacts had already taken place back in June, but at the time, Tottenham demanded €3m for the loan, and Sampdoria didn’t accept that.

Now they’re agreeing to a free loan, with the Serie A side not holding a right to buy.

Even though recent reports from Spain talked about Real Sociedad’s interest in Gil, this story doesn’t even mention potential competition that the Italian club could have for the signing.

Anyone know if Skriniar/PSG is in the bag yet?

IIRC, of the previously linked names we're down to Bastoni, Ndika & Torres now.

Think the only reason Royal went to South Korea is that Spence hadn't signed at that point.

I think its more likely that Doherty stays than Royal (but could be wrong on that) which means that unless we get another HG player in to get a squad of 24 or more (ie 2 players per position plus a 3rd GK plus Royal = 24 ) then numbers mean we won't have squad place to keep him.

I'm not anti him staying but not sure he will become a reliable RWB given Conte didn't get him there last season, soThe mere facy y better for both if he moves on, providing we have enough RWB cover

The mere fact that Conte is trying Moura at right wing back and comparing him to how he converted Moses et al, leads me to believe hes not that struck on either Doherty or Emerson. IMHO a few decent not earth shattering games at the end of the season doesnt inspire me with much confidence in Doherty, I would rather keep Emeson who is much better defensively and good in the air tham Doherty and keep perservering with Moura to make the transition.
