It’s embarrassing that you don’t understand how vaccines work and you’re a grown adult. Forget Covid, this is basic science and health education.

Vaccines ensure your body has the antibodies you need to fight infections. They principally guard against serious illness and death, making your symptoms less severe (good) and often less likely to pass it on (good).

I wouldn’t have been so blunt if you weren’t trying to comment on something you know nothing during a time when you’ve made NO effort to educate yourself. You’re on the internet - you could have done that.

The vaccine doesn't make you immune to getting the virus.

If anything it stops you from spreading it to others.
I'm assuming that the club is taking this approach to minimise "lost time" though rather than for altruistic reasons, although I'm also assuming that this policy was in place before Forster/Bissouma and not a reaction to it.

Point 2 I think is pretty much debunked now isn't it?

Nope - point 2 is not debunked.

Yes the primary functions of the current vaccines are to stop serious illness and death (which largely they do and it’s this which means we don’t have to bring restrictions back).

But they do have an impact on the spread - scientifically proven.

Next gen vaccines with bigger impact of stopping infection are being worked on. And make no mistake they will happen.

Just weighing up how much I would expect the club to consider it in terms of signing a player though, say all of a sudden Bastoni decides that actually he wouldn't mind leaving Inter after all, we agree a deal with them, then come medical tests find out he hasn't had the vaccine...

Are the club going to pull out of the deal? Would fans be happy with that? Is it worth sticking to those guns, when you will still get players catching it and being out of action anyway?

I think the OG tweet speaks for itself on that front.....

"Tottenham are only choosing to sign players who have had the COVID-19 vaccine".

Darren Lewis (Mirror Journo following Chelsea in the states) was saying on Talksport H&J that Chelsea are quite keen on Gvardiol to replace Azpi

Which bit of my post does that address?

I'm not sold on how wise a policy it is on a purely footballing level, as vaccine or not there will be players missing training/matches due to Covid. Just seems like there are only potentially marginal gains to me.

You're certainly more unequivocal about that than the WHO...

Literally the bit I quoted..... You asked if we'd not sign Bastoni if it transpired he was anti-vax.

Presumably; we would opt not to sign him.

I think it's safe to say the club will look into this deeper than you or I have.

If it's a worthy policy safe to say an in creasing number of other clubs will adopt it too.

Chelsea are keen on everyone. Literally means nothing. Though it doesn’t sense because that guy plays on the right and Gvardiol on the left. I think Boehly knows nothing about football.

I’d rather Bastoni anyways.

OK, well what I mean to ponder on there is, push come to shove, how much is that policy going to be stuck to if it comes to our absolute top level, first choice targets.

On the flipside, does this mean that the club will be looking to shift any current players who haven't had it, if there are any? I could see that being the case for the youth, or fringe players, but if Harry Kane hadn't had it for instance, I would imagine the club would overlook it. Which would be wrong imo.

Granted, we're going well into hypothetical territory here.
