I really like Kounde, but I think Fofana is the better all round package for the PL. Definitely better defensively.

I would much rather we built smarter (ie Fofana's before they are Fofana's) but when we announced the 150m wheelbarrow of cash, and if we were going to spunk big money on players, then this was the kind of "VVD" game changing, team instantly improving, type signing I kind of figured we might make.

If we were prepared to spunk 80m on Bastoni, I don't know why we wouldn't be interested Fofana - he's better, more mobile, quicker and PL proven.

I think Fofana would be excellent in that Dier central CB remit, but could actually play in any of the CB positions. So we get quality and versatility - and he's 21.
Brilliant, BC! Hadn't even thought about the potential Bastoni move vs Fofana. Makes you wonder.

Chelsea's form dropped off a cliff when Chillwell got injured v Southampton and James got injured shortly after. Now that they have both fit again, and have also Cucurrella on top of that, they're going to be fine. Koulibaly was always better than Rudiger until Tuchel arrived, just watch their time in Italy. The cunts are good, I wouldn't be so sure about them missing out on top 4 (that's also because I rate Tuchel extremely highly, even though he's not as good as Conte in my opinion). Hopefully we beat them in a week, fucking hate that shithole of a ground that they have.
They'll come 4th I think.

Ha ha!!! Typical Airfixx Airfixx 🤣

Sky say something he doesn't like or goes against his narrative he blasts the poster for sharing a link and it must be bulshit cos they hate Spurs

You're such a bullshit merchant.

The very post you've quoted clearly shows what I think of Sky and their typical cuntery.

Say something that backs him and he's posting and wanking over it like a man possessed. ha ha!😆

Hardly.... The irony is there for all to see, that's all.

Personally I haven't expressed ANY superlatives beyond "good" about our window (if you weren't such a disingenuous fraud, you'd have garnered this from my comments before now, but yeh JT gonna JT.....); I just think you've gotta be pretty fucked up not to even willingly acknowledge it as good.

The point of my prior post speaks for itself regardless of my own opinion.

Fair play mate...hypocrisy off the scale.

Far from a literate man, are you....? Maybe that's just the issue all along...... Perhaps you're not a liar and a fraud afterall and just have a poor grasp of the language you purport to speak.

So Cucurella ended up costing Boehly & the chavs £55m plus £7m in addons.

With Marcos Alonso now almost certainly going to Barca, and Telles to Sevilla, Paratici & Conte should be sternly reminding Reguilon that it's a World Cup year, his Spanish transfer options are closed, and he'll play every week at Brighton.

I'd take half of that chav cash for Reguilon.....

-----------------------------------------

Marc Cucurella’s move from Brighton to Chelsea has been confirmed in a deal that could reach £62m. Chelsea are paying a guaranteed £55m for the left-back and up to another £7m in add-ons.

Chelsea confirm Marc Cucurella signing from Brighton in £62m deal
Chilwell + Cucurella or Perisic + Sessegnon? And Udogie to come next year. I wouldn't swap our LWB options.

I feel sorry for the chavs....I think they're in for a bad time with this guy....I'd prefer them to be a challenger because it makes the games more interesting for us. And everyone else.
Quite fed up with city/pool and then everybody else. Leveling up the PL a little would make for a more interesting season. Better football and better entertainment.
I'd prefer for Brentford to be levelled up instead or almost any other club except Chavs.

Although Spurs have already bolstered their backline by roping in Clement Lenglet, they still remain in the market for another centre-back before the window shuts.

Fiorentina star Milenkovic, who has been linked with leaving the club throughout this window, is one of the players on Tottenham’s radar.

Serie A giants Inter and Juventus are also credited with interest in the Serbian, whose current deal at Fiorentina is set to expire in a year’s time.

Spurs are claimed to have even contacted Milenkovic’s agent to enquire about the possibility of a move for him.

However, according to Sky Italia, all of Milenkovic’s potential suitors, including Spurs, are set to suffer a blow in their hopes of signing him as he is tipped to stay at the Stadio Artemio Franchi for this season.

The 24-year-old’s entourage and the Fiorentina hierarchy held a meeting on Friday to discuss his immediate future and they have decided that the player should remain at his current side.

Moreover, Milenkovic is in talks with Fiorentina over a new multi-year deal, which if agreed up on would see him not leaving the club on a free transfer next summer.

With Milenkovic looking likely to stay in Florence, it remains to be seen whether Tottenham will turn their attention towards any alternative options.

For me yes. We've spent far more in the past on players with no PL experience who end up having absolutely nothing to offer. Traore may not have much to offer, but what he does have - that ability to smash his way up the pitch - could be invaluable in some games, particularly the bigger games, and when you also think about Conte's reputation for improving players simply through repetition a million times of what he wants them to do, largely removing much of the brainwork for some players, for me it seems that might suit Traore perfectly, and hence be a punt worth taking.

Richarlison has his own brute-force qualities.

It's 15m that could go towards a player higher up our list/agenda.

Bloody hell, no-one wants to leave Serie A do they?

Won’t be surprised if Udogie becomes Uturn.

If the price for Traore has really fallen to £15 million does that start to get interesting?
Yes. People seem to think he’s one of the worst players in the league which is ridiculous. He’s been the best dribbler in world football for years.

Obviously he struggles in just about every other area but he completely changes the opponents defensive shape almost every time he receives the ball in space. Every single team pulls a 2nd defender to help because they know the 1st player can’t hang with him. This doesn’t always lead to goals/assists but what it does do is 1) leads to numerical advantages in other areas of the pitch and 2) scares teams that want to attack because they are terrified of the counter.

He’s much better than Lucas and I feel he’d be a dynamic RWB in certain situations. A shame we have a log jam of mediocre offensive players there (besides the unknown of Spence).

Skipp played eighteen games last season, and was out injured and is injured now. Does that make him "injury prone"?

If a player suffers an injury from a bad tackle that doesn't make him "injury prone" does it? Was Doherty's injury at the end of last season due to him being "injury prone" or a red card horrendous tackle?
Am I not right in saying Zaniolo has had 2 ACL injuries? That's different from a one-off injury like Skipp's groin issue.

In seven EL games last season Zaniolo scored twice and provided two assists and Jose said that he was instrumental in Roma's success in the league and Europe.

Finally if we do land him, i am sure that like he has done with every player brought on or already at the club, Conte will improve him.
I don't want to hate on him- he could turn out to be a good player, especially with Conte's coaching.

I just think his risk reward doesn't make sense at that price tag, especially as we already have Richarlison who would limit his playing time further.

I don't know any about Zaniolo's ACLs aside from he has done them both.

If they were result of bad tackles it is hard to label him as injury prone. If they were the result of simply planting and twisting as he ran/cut that is another story entirely.

My mood has improved in advance of tomorrow.
Today the massive pain I was suffering has all but gone. Spoke to a GP on the phone and he seemed convinced it was more like gout than anything else.
I barely drink a drop and am fighting fit so not sure how that happened. But I'd rather something like that than a broken toe that keeps re-breaking.

My walk from Seven Sisters tomorrow will not be a hobble, but a rather confident stride now :)
Get yourself checked out. Gout can be caused by a lot of things. High BP, kidney malfunction, too much red meat etc...best be on the safe side

Telles has gone to Seville
Alonso on the verge of signing for Barca
What happens with Reggie now. Are we asking too much I wonder. I think it’s going to be the last week when we shift the gang of four.

Can anyone point out what attributes he has that we don't already have in the squad?

He doesn't seem like the vaunted plan B that many people suggest they want.

ACL surgeries are pretty strong nowadays and the probability of recurrence is not high. So I don’t think it makes him injury prone in the future. The big IF is does he still have the athleticism/agility he had before? If that’s a yes, many players do just fine after ACL surgery. 20 years ago, players never recovered to 100%.

While tearing both ACLs is alarming, they are singular long-term injuries that lead to a lot of time missed. That is less indicative of future injuries compared to someone that misses the same amount of time due to 3-4 smaller, muscular injuries or a degenerative issue. Muscle injuries have a high recurrence rate, never fully heal, and take a LONG time to even get close.
