Does any other club buy as many players and then loan them out immediately?

Of recent, Clarke, Gil, Sarr and now this fella. To say nothing of the chuckle dickheads Lo Celso and Tanguy (although, obviously different).

A bit spoiled perhaps, but getting a touch bored of these ‘prospect purchases’.

Yes. People seem to think he’s one of the worst players in the league which is ridiculous. He’s been the best dribbler in world football for years.

Obviously he struggles in just about every other area but he completely changes the opponents defensive shape almost every time he receives the ball in space. Every single team pulls a 2nd defender to help because they know the 1st player can’t hang with him. This doesn’t always lead to goals/assists but what it does do is 1) leads to numerical advantages in other areas of the pitch and 2) scares teams that want to attack because they are terrified of the counter.

He’s much better than Lucas and I feel he’d be a dynamic RWB in certain situations. A shame we have a log jam of mediocre offensive players there (besides the unknown of Spence).

There is a lot wrong with this IMO (the bolded parts), although at a cheap price he might be worth it as a bench option.

He has a lot of physical strength and is very very quick, but he is nowhere near being the nest dribbler in the world. He was not even one of the best dribblers in the PL when he was here..

And about Lucas, if the both got the same amount of game time then I really don't think Traore would do much better. However I think he would be worth it at a low price to offer a different option on the bench.

If the price for Traore has really fallen to £15 million does that start to get interesting?
for £15m it's a very handy option from the bench, something different in a game we're struggling in, I get his end product might not be great but at that price I would be tempted. Big wages though right? I wouldn't want to pay much more than £40k p/w for a bench warmer. Expect other clubs will happily pay more though

Why?

If just one of them realises his potential then we have another superstar on the books. Why not get greedy and say 2 of them?

Too often we see posters on here bewailing us not getting a certain player before they became huge, only today we had BC on here saying that he'd like to see us getting the likes of Fofana before he became the £80M Fofana.

And he's right.

Taking these punts is kind of future proofing the squad. If they don't realise the hoped for potential, we move them on and hope to make at least a little profit on the turnover. If they do make it though, well that one player makes the whole thing worthwhile, even if we do have a couple of "failures" along the way.

Am I not right in saying Zaniolo has had 2 ACL injuries? That's different from a one-off injury like Skipp's groin issue.

I don't want to hate on him- he could turn out to be a good player, especially with Conte's coaching.

I just think his risk reward doesn't make sense at that price tag, especially as we already have Richarlison who would limit his playing time further.

What do you mean "one off injury"

Skipp is out injured now you tit!

I don't know any about Zaniolo's ACLs aside from he has done them both.

If they were result of bad tackles it is hard to label him as injury prone. If they were the result of simply planting and twisting as he ran/cut that is another story entirely.

His second ACL was from a tackle by Vane Der Beek, his first was again from a bad tackle although the VDB tackle didn't look that bad, but it's not about the severity of the tackle but the position of the knee at impact.

Whoever uses the words "injury prone" uses it as a throw away line usually because they haven't done any research or even bothered to find out how the injury happened.

I would class (at a push) King, Anderton, Wiltshire, Ramsey to be injury prone, and certainly Lamela (as examples). You could not in all seriousness call a player who has suffered an ACL as "injury prone" as this injury is sustained mainly through an impact from a tackle.

Anyway, we haven't signed him so we will have to wait and see but last season according to Jose he was instrumental in their success especially in the EL.

We will see.

Sure, that all makes sense.

It’s the loaning out bit that is annoying. Paying pretty large fees and then handing them over to other teams seems counterproductive.

Yes but different types of injuries.
Zaniolo has had 2 ACL injuries.

For fucks sake are you now sating that "injury prone" is a selective adjective depending on what type of injury?

Go away you fuckng idiot.

Two players have two injuries but only one of them is "injury prone" but because the other player plays for the club i support he's fitter than a butchers dog.

I am over talking about this, you are simply blinkered on this subject.

Bye.
