Yep. I wondered how long that one would be. I've done al this before.
Could be truth. Could be lost in translation.

I doubt there is such a thing as a loan with a full blown obligation. If a player turns up and is a rapist or a coke head, there has to be an out.

Probably able to cancel the contract directly its discovered he's definitely a rapist or coke head, well before any obligation is triggered

Which Villareal will not take up. 😴
I think it's a tad more complicated.

If the buy option is relatively low, and GLC has a stellar World Cup (I know, I know), then Villarreal could buy Gio to sell him for a profit to a club prepared to pay more than the option to buy.

More likely though, as you suggest, is that Villarreal can't afford the buy option and try to negotiate a lower fee. Or simply send GLC back at the end of the season.

Our problem is finding any/many Spanish or Italian or French clubs to buy the likes of Lo Celso or Ndombele. So in 12 months time there might be a few with better finances , and a loan with Villareal paying Lo Celso's salary and a loan fee might be best option on table this summer.
Ah I wouldn't count on it, unless they intend to copy Barcelona's model of spending TV money.

I was disappointed we made GLC's loan permanent off the back of about 3 good games.
The fact we're now struggling to get rid should teach us a lesson with these deals and make sure we're never obliged to buy unless they prove to be consistently brilliant with quantifiable proof. Like Kulu for example.

Kulusevski is still on loan....so should Spurs sign him permanently would that count as signing the CAM so many of you want...?

What I wanna know is, if we don't trigger the purchase clause until the end of the season, will he have even counted as a proper signing for the preceding 18 months?

:akabusi:

....If Kulu makes an assist in a forest when no-one else is around. Does it really exist?

........Who the fuck scored the goal? :avbcringe:

They can afford it, they just don't want to pay, they spent only 3.60m this summer and sold
Gonçalo Guedes to Wolves for £29 .34m.

Obviously, Twitter, so...

Napoli in talks for Ndombele

Napoli are in talks with Tottenham over the signing of midfielder Tanguy Ndombele.
The deal is progressing but there is still work to do.
Club-record signing Ndombele spent the second half of last season on loan at Lyon.
Ndombele, Giovani Lo Celso, Harry Winks and Sergio Reguilon have all been training away from the first team squad and Tottenham are listening to offers for all four players.
