There must be someone, outside of Hakimi, who would drastically improve what we have in that position. Surely, across the top leagues in Europe, there is a right wing back closer to the Perisic end of the scale than the Emerson end, who we could chuck 50/60m at?

Don't ask me though, i mostly just watch us!
I’ve been thinking the same all summer. But ignoring those who’d never be available, every name that’s been mentioned since May represents a gamble (not done it in the Prem, only had one solid season, really weak defensive numbers, etc etc).
But like you my knowledge of who’s out there is limited.

Before we signed him, I don't remember anybody on this forum shouting "we should sign this Kulusevski fella!"

Not saying there is an exact equivalent for us at rwb. But nobody who is an upgrade on Emerson? Really?

Let's hope Spence is the guy, but it doesn't fill me with confidence that he's not even on the bench yet.

With Sarr moving on from Watford, surely that’d be a good loan for Gill to take that spot?
English football, not too far away from our training ground, Watford ought to be in the upper levels of Champ which is more useful to us than a relegation battle.

Nobody in the championship is going to sign a player like Gil.

He’s not cut out for English football, we need to accept that and move on.

Well there was one person...

Maybe Sammy was just misunderstood. :contetellmemore:

I would prefer if we'd find permanent buyer for him.

Like many in here, I am also puzzled how isn't there more interest in him.
Lo Celso and Ndombele are overpaid pieces of shit, but Reggie is on less money and has had decent performances for us...

Reguilon has had more bad games for us than good games. If he was a British player from our academy he would get slaughtered as badly as Harry Winks. He’s a totally mediocre player, running around like a chihuahua =/= being a good player.

The fact that nobody has come for him yet tells you that other clubs have done their homework on him.

Not the highest earner at Spurs, but his wages will be an issue for any buying or loaning club outside top 10 PL clubs and elite in europe - so the likes of Villareal might well struggle.

So outgoings not easy to do.

Yes I get that but my point was that we already have Richy as a 60 million player that can play both LW and CF. Zaha would literally be overkill and redundant. We need to address other areas.

Sounds fair.

However we clearly wanted to get a CB and spent time looking at best available, and ditto for RWB's.

A key issue in most windows, but especially in this window with most european clubs skint and not wanting to do much business, is availability.

We can only buy or loan in available players which is why I suspect we are possibly currently prioritising AM's. With five forwards (Kane, Son, Kulusevski, Richarlison ad Moura) plus Gil for 6 places, we are one short so do need one, and with a short list of reasonable targets we have a realistic chance of getting a player in.

Compare that to our need for RWB and CB ...... and the shortlist follows after this sentence,

None available meeting Conte's requirements. Try again next window.

if we can't even get a team that have signed as many players as Forest have to sign Reggie permanently there's no hope.
Cough
