Wolves completely bossed us in midfield & limited our chance creation to almost nothing in open play.

I wouldn't say they bossed us. Certainly not like Chelsea did where they completely closed us down on all avenues. We were just, once again, slow and not really brave on the ball.

All changed second half and we dominated.

I feel anyone who thought Wolves bossed us are the same who feel Forest were hard done by yesterday.

Ross Barkley was released by Chelsea. Worth looking at on a free, there is a player in there.

If the only reason we're buying him is because he's cheap then we shouldn't be buying him at all.
I thought we'd finally moved on from that shite.
That wouldn't be the only reason, we were interested in him last season when he would've been much more expensive. We're interested because he'd give us another player who can carry the ball up the pitch through a press, right now only Kulu can do that in the club, maybe Spence.

They bossed us in the first half. We did absolutely nothing. Second half we did improve, but we never had a genuine grip on the game at any point, tbh. Only chance from open play I remember was a Son near post shot.

We won so whatever, move on. But if a Wolves team who don't have a win can do that to us in our own backyard then I don't think its just Chelsea we'll be worried about.

Not blindly, no. I've seen enough of James' flaws to not change my mind on him simply because a more qualified person rates him.

Your opinion on James has no bearing on what I've been talking about. (I've not questioned it, nor am I keen on the idea myself.)

Again, I was responding to the concept of a manager's judgement being fallible and how one approaches that on a practical basis......

Surely you trust the guy until bad decisions give you reason not too?

If not, what approach DO you suggest?

Again, I wouldn't say bossed. Unless we have very definitions of bossed. They didn't do anything. They probably had more of the ball than us but they didn't boss shit.

Chelsea bossed us. Completely bossed us. Until we switched things up half way into the second half.

Nothing in that Wolves game worried me one bit. Chelsea game did. They found a way to nullify us that I've not seen any team do before or since under Conte. And we still managed to come out of it with a point and two goals.

This teams different gravy.

Depends if teams decide to do to us what Chelsea did. Which two games later, none of them have done.

I imagine if that's the case again, we switch it up like Conte did, but quicker.

Our MF 2 will be outnumbered much of the time..... Unless our 2 can trump the numbers game and the oppo's hard press by means of sheer ability, then logcally we will struggle to dominate MF proceedings.

A real shame that after a most un- Tottenham like positive start to the window it looks like just fizzling out and almost left hoping that nothing else happens and we keep Gil, given the alternatives. Still think we're a couple of good first team level players shy of any sort of sustained challenge.
