Transfers Summer 2022 Transfer Thread.

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

So which quality RWB was transferred and/or available this summer window that would have improved Spurs? Can you mention just one?
It was commonly agreed that there was a lack of quality RWB in general which was the problem, not just the lack of quality available. I’d say that only 3 EPL clubs (Man. City, Chelski, Liverpool) have RWB that I believe would considerably improve Spurs – and none of them would join Spurs. The only other RBW that was strongly considered as “worthy”, Tino Livramento, is out with a long-term injury, and relatively unproven.
Even clubs like Man Utd and Barca are struggling to find proper a RB/RBW.
Regarding LCB: Spurs did try for both Gvardiol and Bastoni, but without luck. Bastoni did not want to leave Inter and it was common knowledge that if Chelski would come in for Gvardiol then Spurs would be blown out of the water money-wise. The other candidates simply weren’t worth the risk.

I didn't even mention RWB. You don't have to jump the gun on apologism this much, jesus.

I'm not gonna reel off a pointless list of RWB'S and CB'S who I think the club could sign. It's an entirely pointless exercise which proves nothing other than access to the internet. I find it strange we've been told there's a dearth of quality in a position and Chelsea have signed 3 players there. I'm sure they haven't signed the only 3 ones who are worth a damn.

did he find james in there

To be fair, Gvardiol is a decent player.

But the Rangers performance really opened my eyes more to his deficiencies. And that's to a team in the Scottish Premier League.

As a 20 year old, he'd get fucking eaten alive in this league. But I guess that's why they'd sign him next season, get another years experience under his belt and then arrive with the more experienced Koulibaly and Silva to learn from. Could even play games at LB if they're worried too much.

I would have been disappointed if we chose to sign him for €90,000,000 only to not actually have him arrive until 2023. Especially when going into next summer, Bastoni would have a year left on his deal.

You seem to have forgotten the context of the conversation you were having..... What's that got to do with Man U fans asserting fan-power to veto a signing?
What’s them signing Igalho got to do with them vetoing a signing too?
Whilst not a brilliant signing he made more sense when they signed him than them trying to sign Arnautovic, and certainly made more sense than us trying to sign Dan Fucking James.

You have to look at the funny side of things
Chelsea are set to overhaul their defence this window whilst we get lenglet in on loan 😁
A few months ago we had the likes of Airfixx Airfixx chewing over which Chelsea players we'd be cherry picking this summer:contefacepalm2:

What is frustrating is that Chelsea, as ever, are spending with the clear intention of winning big. It’s ruthless ambition.

I have no complaints with Paratici. There have been some excellent and astute signings. All this talk of defenders, we’ve signed the best in Romero.

It’s just that inevitable feeling that we’re falling slightly short. It’s always risk averse and cautious.
