Like it or not, van Dijks transfer has made it the going rate for a top level centre back with Premier League experience.LOL.
Fofana is a fine player but £80 Million or whatever is taking the piss.

Was there the same fan backlash to Igalho as Arnautovic? No there was not. I’m sure They weren’t happy but they signed Igalho because they needed a striker on an emergency basis. There was some semblance of method to the madness, certainly not the same “shit”.Re-read the conversation.....
It goes a little something like:
You: Fan power stopped Man U signing Arn.
Shady: It didn't prevent them signing Igalo.
Oh come on, it's absolutely the same shit...... Both players on the brink of retrement (1 age... the other lost in China).... The ony notable diff is that at his best Arn was a much better player.
Then you should get on twitter and rally the troops.![]()
Do you enjoy being a miserable cunt all the time? Since when have we outspent plastic clubs. I can’t understand why you enjoy spurs.we have not made an ambitious signing yet, wait let me retract, dan james

When people say xG is a bad stat it's because people think it can be used in this way. You may be wrong or right to say they were more dangerous but using xG in this way adds nothing to that argument.Wolves had 20 shots with a total xG of 0.71. So an average xG of 0.035 per shot. We had 11 shots with a total xG of 1.67. So an average of 0.15 xG. Our chance were 4 times as likely as to go in, yet they were the dangerous team and we were the ones "that didn't look like scoring from open play?" I suggest you rewatch that game.
Would Fofana even make our first 11?Like it or not, van Dijks transfer has made it the going rate for a top level centre back with Premier League experience.
Fofana is a much, much better centre back than Maguire.

I know you’re just trying to make yourself feel better, but you need to get your head out of the sand.
Yes.

You could be right Fofana may not be quite at van Dijks level, but he is a quality defender who in this market is probably worth 80 million if van Dijk was worth that 4 years ago.Yeh, but there's a diff between spending 80m on VVD and 80m on Harry McGuire......
I'd suggest that Fofana lies somewhere in between the two.
So we signed Lenglet on loan and Chelsea sign Fofana and Koulibaly and possibly Gvardiol next year. Absolute piss take. Levy has proven this summer that there was no intention in competing in the future because we are not willing to sign the players we need to compete. The £150m was meant to boost our spending and enable us to do deals not just sign a few players. This is a board who did not sign players when Poch needed them most and they are shafting another manager.
