He also has a far bigger upside. We know what James is and what he can and can't do. I still think it's a bit of an unknown for Traore, by comparison at least. We know he has a unique physique, and most recognise that his technical ability is actually much better than lots on here think. Sadly we also know that his decision making and final ball are generally very poor. But with that physique, and with the positive characteristics, we don't know what a top player-development learn-by-repetition type manager like Conte would make of him. It might be a total disaster, it might not, but personally I'd certainly rather give it a try with Traore than James if the choice is genuinely between those two. James would be a reasonably safe but uninspiring back-up option. Traore would be.. well, god knows, certainly more of a punt, but it might be fun to find out...

I have no idea. I don’t want Dan James. But surely it’d be straight up stupid to buy him if conte didn’t want him.

Does Adama on a permanent deal (with a long contract and wages to boot) make more sense than a Loan for James though? That’s what I’m struggling with. As players I’d take Adama 7x a week and twice on Tuesday but it’s not that simple.

I can't see us wanting either for longer than one year - unless either have a talent growth so they are as good as our other players, which is highly unlikely
