Transfers Summer 2026 Transfer Thread

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Most of the talk is about CB’s that is probably our strongest area. We are more desperate for new forwards and a new No 1 GK. yet nothing seems to be happening. ENIC have promised us they will be investing and yet we are getting 2 Freebies. I thought Levy had left the building yet nothing has changed.

Did you notice how many goals we've conceded over the last few years?

Truth is that the whole squad needs rebuilding, all positions.

he's a fucking centre back, when someone says "back to goal" they don't mean the one at the opposite end
No back to goal is usually meant as playing with your back towards the opponents goal. Which is why no one ever refers to defenders receiving the ball as receiving with their back to goal since they're facing play.

And I don't think VdV struggles receiving the ball out the back anyway. It's easier to receive the ball facing play which is why it's a weird comment to make anyway.

I think a big part of what we need to do is actually balance the squad.

Dragusin does not look comfortable as cover for VDV, so moving him on and replacing him with Senesi makes a lot of sense.

There is a clear need to make us better at fullback as Spence can’t be the cover for both sides. Robertson gives us that and brings some maturity to the squad.

The signings make a lot of sense as we need to stop having square pegs in round holes.

If you look at what RDZ has said about Gray and Bergvall, it’s basically we need to find a position for them and coach them to play that role. It’s a big part of why he took them out of the team at the end of the season. I’ll bet both get defined roles and a lot of game time next season.

It’s this sort of understanding and building that we have sorely missed and has let us become a collection of individuals rather than a team. Hopefully we continue to keep this in mind as we invest in key areas.
We losing Romero so Sensi isnt even standing still.

Sorry to be pendantic, but I dont even think we need to find roles for Bergvall or Gray. They should be benched or sold IMO.

Romero, VDV & Danso for 2;Positions. What other position have we that strength? Not GK, not forwards, FB’s Porro, Spence & Udogie ? No, midfield, despite many midfielders not a strength and part of the problem with conceding goals along with FB’s.

Vicario has been a source of conceding goals and many believe is going but any info on a replacement. Our forwards, Richie believed to be going, Muani gone, Odebert out for months, Kula, will he ever be back, Kudus, will he be back from day 1? Only real mention is a rehash for a MC winger we failed to get in the last 2 windows and cannot get inthe MC team. These are the areas where we will find out if ENIC’s promise to invest in the team is real or just hot air.

Yeah I'm also having to wean myself off the Bergvall hype train. Sadly think he may well be loaned or even sold when I was convinced he was on the brink of exploding not very long ago. Suppose looking good in the end-to-end chaos of Ange-ball (while losing most games) doesn't necessarily translate to managers that want real discipline and structure in the midfield.

Would like to see us try to bait Bournemouth into selling us Scott and us loaning them Bergvall as part of the deal.

Would like the same for Devine, with Hackney.

Think it would be very good to get five/six/seven English players into our core group (Scott, Hackney added to Gallagher, Maddison, Gray and Spence, with Moore possibly season after ditto Phillips/Devine).

True. But he has been good in four different leagues now.

He has been incredible in every league he has played in

You guys are both right, and it's a fair point. Still, the Polish, Croatian, Belgian and German leagues aren't the Premier League, especially when it comes to hitting the ground running. Plenty of established players have struggled in their first season, if not longer.

Having a year to adapt, or even another loan, wouldn't be the worst thing if we had Danso and Van Hecke ahead of him initially. He could then develop and potentially overtake both, with Danso perhaps moved on after another season.

That said, I'd love him to come in now and be a starter from day one. I've said the same about plenty of young prospects from other leagues over the years, though most of them ended up failing at Tottenham. Then again, that's probably more of a Spurs problem than a player problem.

TBF, 2 signings confirmed before the window even opens is definitely change. And I'm one who has been adamant that nothing would change.

I fully expect Kinsky will be the #1. Expect we'll look for a Friedel type cheap veteran that can potentially be a steady caretaker until next summer if the young lad falls apart.

There's been some talk about attacking players, though none all that exciting. We haven't changed our stripes that much, we're not spending £120M and £300kpw on a sexy CF signing.

This started from my post.

I meant defending with his back to his own goal not the opponent’s goal nearly 100 yards away.

Doesn't he have a contract until 2030?

He's going nowhere on the cheap, if at all.
The important thing is the length on the contract and anything over 2 years is moot as you’re going to get full price regardless.
You cannot make a player who doesn’t want to stay play for you. The best you can do is put the transfer off for a window or two (potentially losing value) and, perhaps, rule out certain destinations.
