If were spending 50m on hecke then....

Were either going to be left short in attackers

Or

Were going to have to spend mega, like 300m

Knowing spurs we will somehow do both

:richclosed:
If we're getting say Senesi, Robertson, Van Hecke, Savinho and Hackney, for say 110-120m and the board are actually going to be ambitions, it should leave a fair chunk of change for a striker and even another winger or mid.
Hopefully we'll actually be recouping some half decent money in sales for once too.

That should leave our squad good enough and young enough to not require major investment for a while, depending on how the youngsters progress, the injuries recover and the youth push through.

You know as bad as this is (and it is bad) at least he is getting in scoring positions and creating chances. This season we got to watch our forwards like Kolo Muani miss big chances AND faff around up top and create fuck all else.

Jackson would be a big improvement
What? no! you can't be serious? At least with someone who can finish, we could find ways to put them through, but watching that football criminal curl them out for a throw-in would be absolutely insanity given our experience with forwards.

No, no, no, no no!

oh hell no GIF

I’m told that if Spurs are unable to secure their desired fee for Cristian Romero this summer, the club would be very open to exploring what would effectively be a ‘part-exchange’ arrangement, provided the interested club can offer a player who fits Tottenham’s recruitment criteria.Such a structure could, in theory, widen the pool of potential suitors for Romero, with Spurs prepared to consider player-plus-cash proposals rather than insisting on a straight cash sale. Spurs mean business this window!

Rudiger is getting on in age, asencio isn't much liked by the fans and that list came out about José not wanting him.

Offer them Romero for Rodyrgo :langetroll:

Go get the Camavinga :bentancurpoint:

Look at you dooming 🤣

Tbf you’re spot on here. I’m nowhere near as happy about Van Hecke as others. He gave us two extremely cheap goals this season, we know he has a bit of an error in him, and is liable to get bullied especially in the box. Romero for his faults is at least good in the air. We all know how inconsistent Micky’s box defending is too, that feels like a recipe for disaster in the PL when protecting a one goal lead facing an onslaught of pressure. Can you imagine us putting up a wall and escaping danger to secure an away result with those two at CB? It feels like a team lacking in physicality and aerial strength.
Brighton and Bournemouth were 8th and 10th respectively in defending set pieces last year., far from the worst in the league.

If the PGMOL do crack down on the corner shenanigans, which is likely but I won't hold my breath, then I expect to see less issues arising, regardless of who we have in defence.

If that is your main concern, then I expect you'd welcome Harry MacGuire into the fold...

If we can do a good enough overhaul this window, we could quite quickly be in the position of just looking at 1-2 good buys each window to strengthen the team

Also a fair chance we'll have a fire sale in Jan, once players actually come back fit and suddenly we're looking bloated

Its a gamble in the sense that I think we would end up stunting his development

Van Hecke, Robertson, Senesi - screams to me very much of "we arent fucking about this year"

With one game a week I think itll be as strong a team as possible every game

I think the chances of blooding a youngster in defence in those circumstances are slim

The rumours recently have all been uskovic signs a new deal and goes on loan, and I think thats a good solution

He gets a nice pay bump to reward his progress, he gets another year of regular football, we get a better player next season when we have need of a bigger squad for the european games etc...
I'd like to see Vuskovic back next season, but you make a lot of sense.

He's only 19, so has better than a decade of top flight Football ahead of him. Another year of regular minutes, ironing out his game further, can only be of benefit to him.

If it's what he and his family are pushing for, it should only strengthen his bond to the club, as we're putting his development ahead of our own wants.

Maguire is a very good CB and I would absolutely take him at Spurs.
