Always worth repeating when players like Goto get linked/signed. We ABSOLUTELY should be buying young players with high potential. It’s a key part of how a top club should be operating. Otherwise you end up having to spend 40-70mil on Brighton stars or Barca rejects in every position.

BUT they need to be accompanied by signing top tier established quality (60-100mil). As well as youth through the ranks. Sadly our scouts and management are just absolutely shit at getting the balance right/ splashing the cash for the big lads.

So, if we sign Goto, I fully hope he kicks on and becomes a star. Good luck to him. If he doesn’t then it should be no biggie - onto the next one.
Be nice to start by signing English players.

You know, being an English club playing in the English Premier League.

Which ones would you sign?
To begin with, I would've signed Alex Scott and Bowen instead of friggin Kudus. Both now way too expensive and will have much better suitors.

I'm warming up to the idea of Garner, but why would he leave Everton to join the footy version of the Titanic...when he can go back to United or join a bigger, more successful club than us.

MGW was someone I really liked, but Mister Marinakis bummed Levy dry.

Bowen would never sign for us in a million years.

Our only chance would be when he was at Hull

He's now married to Dani Dyer, with Danny Dyer salivating over him, embedded deep into a "Wistam" family. His personal life would be over for the sake of a couple of years of football.

I’d probably still look at Scott. Being a massive Yiddo has to count for something.

Always liked MGW as well. Maybe revisit in the summer.
Not saying they are plausible, but I expect Trafford, Elliot Anderson, Livramento, and Wharton would be on people's lips

Tough to pull off those signings this summer IMO. Unless you want to overspend big time. Not against overspending but I’m not sure any of them are overspend players

I think we need to be more in a position to be scavenging from Chelsea and City's academies. "overspend" there and you get yourself most of those players, plus potentially a Cole Palmer, Morgan Rogers etc

Evanilson at Bournemouth looks a solid player, nice touch and plays %’s a bit like Solanke. Would take both over Gyokeres who simply can’t control a football

I'd have signed Wan- Bissaka as a winger over Kudus, never mind. Show pony and the reason he has so many assists is because Frank's God awful tactics of everything goes through him. What a waste of money.

He'd defo wanna come here and I'd take him right now over Bentancur, Sarr and friggin Bissouma. But Bournemouth know how to sell high and I reckon you're looking at 50-60 mil...can't see our board going for it with Gallagher, Archie, Berg, Sarr, the racist, Madders & Kulu on the books already. More likely they'll sign Palhinha for whatevs Bayern still owe us for Kane.

Think he'll end up at Liverpool/City/Utd/whichever one can't get Anderson.

Forest going down would help. But would still need to deal with the obese gangster.

Same as re Scott, though...can't see us getting it done unless we shift one or two of our existing CM/CAM first.

Scott is more of a Bergvall type tbh

But I’d def trade him for Bentancur in our squad.

Biss needs to be moved on for a deep lying playmaker #6 type. Locatelli mould.

Palinha can stay but as a CB.

Gray and Bergvall are only going to get better now the hard yards have been mostly done on the early Prem experience,

Sarr needs to be a very careful decision. I could see Poch really liking him.
