Best signing we can make for that midfield. Has everything that we lack in terms of his ability to dictate tempo and move the ball between the lines. He’s the actual player people think Wharton is.

Bin Bentancur and Palhinha, maybe Gallagher too depending if De Zerbi likes him or not, and get Locatelli and Ederson as the replacements, our technical level in the middle of the park would skyrocket and we’d look somewhat competent again.

I get a strange feeling that De Zerbi might like Bissouma, as a kind of press-resistant all action midfielder.

Can't be trusted for consistency

Give it a rest, Levy's not here anymore for fuck sake.

And the new heads, have gone all out to get RDZ, and have obviously said they are will to back him, etc etc, to get him signed.

Just depends doesn’t it. I’ve no doubt that ENIC have promised Conte and Mourinho the earth too. The difference this time though, is if they fail to get 5/6 proper top players this summer (if we stay up) then it’ll be a third season in the lower bottom half, looking nervously over our shoulders.

It's not about Levy, it's about how attractive we are atm for players of this calibre to join

They made a massive offer for Semenyo in January, higher wage package than City offered, but he wasn't interested.

We won't have European football to offer either. Why would Locatelli come here considering the state of the club. It's a pipe dream

Exactly. See Eze. Improved wages will help but we'll still be 5th or 6th choice in the prem alone so it makes it difficult to attract Locatelli or Wharton if the usual suspects are interested. More likely to be Haydon Hackney, who looks a decent player to be fair.

Have a bit more faith in the club.

And Semenyo is just one player, not all of them.

We could have had Eze but Levy pissed about obviously trying for a last minute deal. Didn't work because other chairmen were fed up with him.

It's not even about that. It's about the fact we've spunked millions on a squad that is close to relegation. With no European football I wouldn't expect the club to spend what is required to fix the team. We are not immune to profit and sustainability rules.

Correct. Eze would be a Spurs player if Havertz hadn’t gotten injured.

If we stay up and are willing to pay the wages, we won’t struggle to get good players in. We’re still a big club, with the best facilities, in a city players want to live in. I don’t think European football matters that much to players these days. It’s been massively diluted with all the changes they’ve made in recent years.
