Transfers Summer 2026 Transfer Thread

Do you think maybe Hackney could fill that role? On the face of it, Anderson and Wharton don't look like realistic options now. Even if they were they'd be absurdly expensive.

Hackney is a playmaker, who's been integral to a team that plays the style of Football I would expect RDZ to encourage.

He seems to have the skillset, it's just whether he can transfer it to the PL, but he's been a standout in the Championship.

I'm thinking that he's an intriguing option.

Yeah Hackney is my pick, has all the right tools and is ready to step up.

I’ve just seen Julian Brandt is out of contract and on a free this summer…. Judy turned 30 not sure if right for us, but a definite coup for someone.. screams Brighton?

Good point, especially as we know both players are likely to play all 38 games and retain form for the duration.
I just noticed I got a spot.
I sense sarcasm :sherwoodlol:

I like the idea of depth at LCB, but my question was more around who replaces Romero. Danso or Vuskovic perhaps?

We need depth mate..

The only concern fans should have is what the quality of that depth looks like.

He is however injury prone, and my big thing on injuries, is that in part they are mechanical as in some player's bodies just succumb more readily, and the other is that the stress of expectation just does something unknown or unresearched to the body. (Very much my iwn unanalysed theory).

As a player Hackney is quality however. No doubt, and would be a good squad option, and is arguably better than both Bergvall and Gray at the present time.

He's a good rotation option for Maddison. But I think we still need another midfielder who can create alongside Maddison. They dont need to start every week but we're lacking in creativity regardless.

Although De Zerbi's system is based on repeatable pattern plays so who knows. The midfielders we have are alright passers so we still might be able to create more.

Any suggestions on players you think would be best? Baleba as dm and Scott as playmaker would be excellent imo. Biss, sarr and bergvall (loan) out would leave us with baleba/gray and scott/bents which i think is a great mix.
Both technically very good on the ball. All this not the right profile is a whole load of nonsense. You don’t need eye catching passes to move the ball through the pitch. Ball manipulation, 1 v 1 ability, making space and passing patterns will get us dominating games and sustaining attacks. Get a

What were his numbers? I genuinely never know if hes good or bad.
From what I've seen of him he's a very good dribbler who's good at picking the ball up deep and getting it up the field. Tends to get fouled before he can do any real damage in the box via a shot or cross though. Thought he was one of the main reasons West ham went on a bit of resurgence later in the season. Wouldn't say no to him especially if he can start creating more goal opportunities.

No thank you. A Levy type of signing.

Which ironically also means he isn't

Signing Robertson and Summerville to revamp the LHS after the season we’ve just had feels like we’re really trying for another relegation scrap.
The alternatives are rashford, savinho and maybe leao from milan. I'd have leao first, then rashford, then summerville and finally savinho. Perversly savinho would probably be the most expensive. Leao is meant to be available for 40mil.
