Werent we in for him before he went there?

Next big wonderkid kind of thing?

Given our tendencies, what are the chances he is still on our list....

He was out for a year due to CLT - but the real reason Spurs didn't buy him was that "they" knew the large majority of the Spurs fans would ever learn how to spell his name

They'll play him instead of Trossard at LW. Huge upgrade on a decent player.

Agree with Aphex on this one. I was gutted when they signed Eze and I'll be just as gutted if they sign Rogers.
Think it's a stupid move for them to make at the fees quoted tbh, he doesn't obviously displace anyone in their first XI going off best form and LW/CAM where Rodgers can play are probably their two most stacked positions on the pitch, what would really worry me is them spending £100m each on a) a Gyokeres upgrade which pushes him to depth status and b) a passing CM in the Modric role who can convert them to more of a front foot style capable of grinding out 95+ points in the league and becoming a dynasty. Arteta is properly shit at squad building luckily and seems to have little idea of how to apply these necessary finishing touches to his squad, keeps fixing shit that isn't broken.

Fucking depressing that Woolwich want Rodgers. He's probs my fav PL player at the moment. He'll brilliant and would improve their attack so much.

Fucking shit that we have to watch those cunts be a good side again, but also showing ruthless ambition when they are on top. Unlike our pathetic owners.

Honestly Im not sure he will

Arteta kills attacking players, kills attacking football

Rodgers is very good, but that doesnt mean he'll be especially good there

To specifically answer, football wise no - he may not want to switch. But financially, Inter want to raise 100m through Sales… and he also on 40k gbp a week deal…

Aha I didn't know they had to raise 100 mill thru sales

If he is forced out of Inter then yes Spurs should test the waters and see if he would be interested in the Spurs project under DeZerbi.

I just questioned why the player would choose to leave Inter Milan with their CL football and ability to win Serie A for a big rebuilding job here at Spurs

In the Championship, in a club and team that plays through the middle of the park.

Player tendencies are definitely are real thing but after Frank left Gray absolutely showed a completely different range of passing than we saw most of the season.

De Zerbi spoke about Gray needing to zone in and focus on a specific position and role. I don’t think it’s controversial to say that he’s never had a run of games in any specific position because his availability and versatility meant he was needed to cover a million injuries all the time.

Hackney has been a more settled player but really they need to see where De Zerbi sees both Gray and Bergvall before signing another young midfielder IMO.

Go spend some real money on Locatelli or Anderson or whoever but the Palinha squad place needs to go on an established, experienced, elite ball playing 6

I don't mind who we have as a 6 but they need to be the right profile so I wouldn't mind Locatelli although part of the appeal with Hackney is that he's homegrown and he's got more mileage than Gray and Bergvall, he's played more senior games than both he just hasn't played in the Prem but IMO he wouldn't have a problem adapting.

Bergvall is the one who needs the loan.

Agree to an extent, Wharton would still be my first choice, if not Locatelli, then probably Hackney but he's the right profile of what we need, preferable to another bits n pieces midfielder. There are no sure things anywhere, i'd say Hackney has as much if not more chance of adapting than Locatelli even if not as good. Would allow us to spend the big money in the front 4 because we need goals from somewhere.
