Does the last 10 games not count in a season then, I don't really understand this point, same for the fact that Pep switched up his tactics?

I think we're getting away from the main crux anyway, if people are going to make the argument about Pep kills his wingers and presumably you're making the same argument for Savinho then Doku and Semenyo totally contradicts that right? Even if their goals did come in bunches that doesn't really change the argument.

I hope he does prove me wrong, I just don't understand where all the faith is coming from.

Never said Pep killed wingers - ever

And the point is - during the period where Doku got his goal involvements Sav was barely playing -

Most wingers have underperformed this season in the Prem Doku was one of the best with 10 goal involvements - that's not a lot but in context for the season that's pretty good.

The faith is coming from his general output when he gets given significant game time - this season he wasn't given that - you say that it's because he has stalled in his development, but one swallow does not make a summer - you said he only scored 1 this season - he scored 3 in his last 5 starts agains prem opposition.

The season before he was fire when it came to assists and key chances.

I am sure I have explained it - you don't see it- I get it, but now you know :)

I think Hackney is good enough to start for us because he is an obvious profile we lack, only reason I mention him is because IMO he's ready to burst onto the scene like Wharton was and he's homegrown, Locatelli is the other one who profiles well but I don't think he's for sale.

You think if we added Van Hecke, Scott, Locatelli, Akliouche, Savinho and Osimhen to Senesi and Robertson, with RDZ coaching them, we’d end up worse than 17th?

Are you ok over there in that Jack Jones (but hurt) Locker?

Osimhen is an excellent player, but a bit of a cunt. Talent wise I'd put him in the top 10 strikers in the world.

Ivan Toney is also vastly above the level of a Jackson, but also a bit of a cunt.

Personally, I think we could tolerate the odd cunt if they're good enough. Just a strict no rapist or nonce policy.

What an absolutely ridiculous comment.
You may as well ask if we swapped our squad for PSG, would we get better?
Putting aside the issues of getting them to come and getting their clubs to sell them and getting rid of the players necessary to make space for them, not going to spend 400m in a single window.
Clearly you play too much football manager and I bet you win every year

Look, I obviously know they aren’t going to get all that done

But what I’m really saying is that a regular “realistic” ENIC window is exactly how you get back to back 17th place finishes

The fans should be protesting outside their houses if they try to pull another “realistic” window this summer. Especially after all of their big talk and PR releases saying how different it’s going to be

In your 30 years, was there ever a situation where you’d have given your mate Simon privy on the covenants and contracts of your employers debt?

If the answer is yes, maybe that’s why you are the ex head of finance at whatever it was you said it was
If he didn’t divulge the specifics and just said ‘there are restrictive covenants in place that we have to meet’ then there’s no confidential information shared.

You're comparing championship stats with premier league stats.

My eye test tells me he's not good enough. Maybe as a squad player but to start? No.
Wharton isn't just good mate he's already very good and technically he's outstanding.
I was saying this about Wharton in 2024 when I saw him numerous times at Blackburn. I'm not hating on the championship (I also said there's absolutely no way Gray is worth the 35m we are forking out).

We are going to be extremely disappointed if Hackney is our CM signings and he is being brought in to start.

Edit
Adding in Fofana's understudy at Lyon, Alfonso Moreira (21yo right footed, inverted left forward) young, raw, bit light weight, but good skill set. Technically good, take ons good, quick, has an eye for a pass and shot.

Just to add, here's a radar for Moreira. The kid's put up some good goal/assist numbers too:

No offense mate but this account is openly a fraud who makes things up for attention. They’ve admitted it, it’s just a wind-up. Please don’t share their tweets as it only encourages this behaviour.

Ill share whatever I like

Dont for one second think it makes a difference if I do / dont

Or that I think any of its true

Truthfully I mostly post it to prompt a bit of chat about various players (and, these days, learn a bit)

YOU didn't but the debate started from this statement, you replied to my post which rebuttabl'd it so it's literally the point of the debate.

He was barely playing because he wasn't good enough.

If you're gonna zero in on his goals in Cup matches (because since when did we count goals in cup matches but okay) then the two goals he scored one was a massive deflection that looped over the keeper, the other he literally knew nothing about and the ball hit him lol

I am sure I have explained it - you don't see it- I get it, but now you know :)

But this is the thing you say he wasn't given significant game time because as I said he didn't take his change, it's that simple. Pep stopped trusting him as the season went on because he never took his chances.

Environment is a big thing with cunts as well.

Probably this group could soak up one like Osimhen or Toney. Especially if they are good guys like RDZ kept saying.

Toney and Solanke probably wouldn’t be the worst Striker rotation for De Zerbi tbh

Fine but I posted a tweet earlier where he was literally 99th percentile when compared against fellow Championship players earlier.

You still haven't said who your preference is, who is that elite player you think is good enough to step up?

Then how do you know what number those covenants would constrain the club to spending? Because you seemed 100% certain they would prevent us spending 400m
I suggest you re-read my original post and then look up the meaning of the word ‘probably’! 😁

I’ve been involved in enough commercial borrowing to know you don’t obtain a billion pound loan without having to jump through a considerable number of banking hoops.

Perhaps you could share your personal experience on the subject?! 🤔

Thanks for the back and forth, it’s been very entertaining, if only going to demonstrate what little grasp of reality you possess! 😂

Valued wealth is not the same as having that money in the bank. A large chunk of the valuation is also made up by the club.
Yes I know, and I don't think they'd want to sell those other investments to raise money for expensive footballers. I think Levy's plan was to get some minority investors to buy shares in the club, which raises capital. What the Lewis's plans are IDK, they keep stating the club isn't for sale.

I got these figures from the club's official website;

• Total Revenue for the year increased by 7% to £565.3m (2024: £528.2m)
• Operating expenses (before player trading) increased by 15% to £521.5m (2024: £453.6m),

So there's not much left for players such as the list compiled by Richard Arlison Richard Arlison
