What do you actually want?
You're going on as if this shit is Football manager (oh yeah well next season we will just sell Danso and Vuskovic will take his spot)

Where is the genuine pathway for him when we will have brought in Van Hecke (in your oddball scenario). Do you think the biggest teenage talent in the world is going to come back to play second fiddle with occasional cup appearances, wtf.

We are in a transitional period now in which the fans will accept pretty much anything as long as we are playing decent football . If he can't be trusted now then we might as well cash in if we are going to be offered 70m.

The reality is he needs trusted now with the ever reliable Danso as his back up.

Vuskovic is too young for this club at this moment and time. He should be a back-up but clearly he doesn't seem to want that.

While I think after killing the German league and being wanted by Bayern he probably is ready for us I think a PL loan so fans and the club can see him up close I our league is the way forward. His value will most likely increase if we ended up selling anyway.

Coventry, Ipswich and the like would bite your arm off for Vuskovic for one season.

Probably a lot closer to realism. One might argue a loan to arguably an even more established PL outfit, just to test the guy's quality, somewhere significantly more challenging than the Farmer's League.

Why are you so het up?, you're being overly weird and negative to a situation which is fairly simple.

I already said I am fine with 4 CB's next season and Vusko to go out on loan again thrn be bought back the following year, not difficult.

I don't get emotionally tied to players, if he is the player that everyone says he is he will come back in the team and eventually claim a first team spot, cream generally rises to the top so if he is good enough he should stand out right?

Fekin amazing that people have the energy to go full Karen mode on us strengthening the squad and actually backing the manager for once.

This fanbase always has to be angry at something, it's incredible.

This makes absolutely zero sense. Why would you trust either with another window only to sack them after it's done.
That's what I thought.

He's convinced we're gonna have a great window......
.....Then, if He's right....wants the club to sack the people who deliver it 😆

I wouldn't let Brighton embarrass us here. He's not worth more than 50m with just a year left on contract. Palace were only looking for 40m for Guehi last summer and hes better than van hecke. Be prepared to walk away.

I'm someone who really wants van hecke and thinks he improves us. But you have to be smart. We can't just turn into Chelsea or man united and become the class clowns in the transfer market. I'd rather see us walk away than overpay

He was in last chance saloon, even so Utd got shot of him as did Villa and now Barca also won't cough up a fee well below market value.....and we ain't Barca.

He's still under contract at United, and given the number of managers United have gone through you can understand why he wanted out.

He was exceptional at Barca.

Unlikely to come to us, as will many of our targets, two seventeenth finishes and no European football will reflect in the quality of players we will be able to attract.

If we give him a new contract with bigger wages and a PL loan that would be ok for next season but after that it’s a use him or lose him situation.

As Ally Gold said his ceiling is higher than Van Hecke, he was the best defender in the German league last season at just 19 year old which is fucking nuts. That isn’t normal at all.

I can see selling him to fund a huge buy like Bruno from Newcastle or Wharton for £100m but it would need to be an offer we can’t turn down not a £50-60m deal but a proper £100m type deal. Selling for £50m and a few years time he is in the world XI which isn’t totally unrealistic if he goes to Bayern or Real Madrid considering he is already in the German league XI and we will look dumb. I’d much rather be a club that can utilise an elite young talent that sell it.

Right

And if we use him before he’s ready then he could end up where Bergvall is and nobody knows how good he really is

It’s a careful balancing act

Nah he's not too young. He's the biggest talent in world football and he will be coming into a club with two back to back 17 place finishes in a transitional season with not much pressure in way of trying to win something or qualify for the champions league.

This is the perfect time for him to come back,it literally can't be any better. He will be replacing a bum of a 'captain' that most people have given up on a while ago.

The peculiarities of the summer window are becoming clear to see.

We have 4 or 5 younger players who ordinarily would have far lesser expectations of starting regularly for a club of our size and stature.

But as a result of the last 2 seasons, the injuries, and the sub-standard performances of more experienced team mates, we are in this freaky situation where players who aren't quite ready for weekly PL action, are possibly irritated at the likelihood of bit parts for next season.

Needs careful handling.

If he's not up to Premier League football why would Coventry or Ipswich want him?

With no European football why couldn't he take a place in the squad and face teams like Coventry, and Ipswich?

If I were him, why would I want to play for potential relegation fodder, when I have a chance to play for De Zerbi, in his system and with an incoming solid back four.

A lot of fans on here are waiting for him to turn twenty odd years of age before he puts on a Spurs shirt.

Dunno if he is interested or not on playing for them.
Maybe he has his heart set on playing for RDZ again.

I’m making a point about agency which you seem to have trouble accepting— in this and other threads.

Personally, there are lots of places I wouldn’t live regardless of salary. Liverpool being one.

You say I don’t understand agency then assume to know what Van Hecke will do with his

It’s this simple, if there’s bigger clubs willing to spend more than we want to pay, and Van Hecke is willing to go to those clubs, then the length of his contract means nothing

Playing every week is better for his development than playing every now and then

Stop talking so much nonsense.
He shit. You are just too silly to understand that he is not athletic mobile or incisive enough to play Centerforward in a top Epl side or even a midtable one. Ive seen him live four times in his pomp at Forentina and at Juve he is crap on steroids He will never play for Spurs thank god. We're you one of the ones that really thought Gyökeres was elite?

Lots of fans thought that Rice wasn't worth 100M

A players value to a team isn't always about length of contract he has remaining, and we will likely once again settle for the left-overs rather than the main course.

He's twenty five, possibly coming into his prime and paying say fifty million for an excellent CB who should be good for the next eight or nine seasons is still very good value.

If we have made two offers, then we will likely make a third.

paying thru the nose for Van Hecke is silly imo
Not if you’ve identified he’s the right player for the club for the next 5 to 6 years.

Say we over pay by £10m, that’s a £2m write down each year over a 5 year contract. How it affects your cash flow is probably the biggest hurdle, but with Robertson and Senesi on a free it kind of evens itself out.

The extra over could be sorted in performance related add ins, that if met you’re unlikely to care if it costs more eg top 6 finish would mean a jump in the PL TV rights pay out.

We’ve got to stop being penny wise, pound foolish or we’ll have learnt nothing from two consecutive 17th place finishes.

He is clearly more than good enough for PL football, Bayern wouldn’t want anyone to upgrade their CB position. However PL experience would mean he would have even less adaptation when he does come to us. At that age you just want to play football to learn and grow, if I were him I would rather play 50 games for Coventry in the PL than 10 games for Spurs in the PL. if he played for Coventry next season the following season he would have all the experience to hit the ground running and move whoever was in his way out of the team. It would also allow De Zerbi and the coaching staff to see him in the prem environment. There would be no doubt he could come in and take the CB spot.
