The thing is though, that defenders tend to reach their peak later than the more advanced players because there's so much to learn about the art of defending.
Jus being a physical specimen doesn't translate to being able to defend in a team, against top quality opposition every week.

He wants to be playing and learning every week so if we can't offer him that, and the signs are that RDZ doesn't feel that we can, then loaning him is the best option.

And yes, while maybe he will get his head turned by the mainly German media and their propaganda but he's currently on a long contract and has been so since he was 16 iirc.
The lad used to wear Spurs shinpads during his first loan.

The most important thing that we can do is give him the opportunity to fulfill his potential, now worry about things that may never happen.
I remember last year, he said himself he needed to go on loan, he trained with the squad and said he just wasn't ready yet. I thought that was pretty mature. All we can hope is that he's still as humble and realistic as he was then and between him and RDZ they come to the correct way forward, they know a shedload more than me about this, so whichever way they go i'll be happy.

Scott is way, way, way better athletically and defensively, and Prem proven in a team that qualified for Europe.

Hackney is going for £10m to Everton, Scott looks like he’s going for 5 times that. Bizarre, uninformed take.
He's not what we need and never has been. Quality wise he is not "meh" but we need to be targeting central midfielders that offer something drastically different to what we already have.

The list of players who have owned it in the Bundesliga and have struggled in the Prem is much, much, much, much, much longer than the list of those who have owned it there and successfully transitioned in season following their move.

More experienced players than Vuscovic

And the fact you won't at least accept there is a huge risk there, and there is a fuck tonne of precedent to back up the feeling of risk, makes your stance on this disengenuous.
So what leagues do you think we can buy from to join our squad? Players have been bought in recent years from much lesser leagues than the German one. Their clubs are competitive in Europe. There is always a risk with any purchase but we already own him.

Don't argue with him
