So, not in a MF 3 then....

Kane is usually our 10 but hasn't been playing like one in this funky system. For some reason Son is the 10 most of the time.
Yes because a 3-5-2 is three midfielders but if you play it with one in front then he has to be technically good and create. He can still do his defensive duties from in front of a two. If we played a flat 3 in midfield then I don’t think it suits him. Kane is a centre forward who drops in to create space in behind. It’s ideal for a Maddison type to run into that space that Kane leaves. Kane could find him as his passing is world class. We could play that just now with Kulusevski in that role.

Agree.

This whole thing of Son playing deep has to stop.

We had a way out when Davies was mostly sitting at LWB, meant Son could stay forward but left us without anyone to receive between the lines in build up.

Kane and Kulu are the two players we have that can link play and we don't use them to do it. Son is the most lethal finisher running in behind and we don't use him.

It's more like sabotage now.

Chukuweze looked really good against RM, as did Lo Celso.

Hope we look into Chukuweze and I wouldn't be opposed to giving Lo Celso another chance.

I think we should buy either Maddison or Olise to give us another creative option who can play RW.
We don’t need wingers if we have wing backs. The problem is we can’t dominate the ball centrally in a 3-4-3. If that changes to a 3-5-2 we can then start to take control of games which naturally drags teams in narrow then we can release our wing backs in behind teams and there crosses are played in between defence and keeper. In Udogie and Porro we have two that will thrive playing that way but we must sign 2 Maddison types. You can play with both in front of a sitting midfielder or one of them in front of two sitters. The one thing we need to do is stop letting teams dominate the ball. This counter attacking shit 3-4-3 formation only works if the wide players of the front 3 can actually take the ball in and get you up the pitch. It’s a horrid rigid formation and the whole team play in straight lines. Easy to play against.

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly looking at signing West Ham defender Nayef Aguerd as the North London side look to bring stability to their defensive line.

Aguerd signed for West Ham in the summer of 2022 and has impressed many with his performances for the Hammers this season.

The Moroccan has made 18 appearances so far, and scored his first Premier League goal at the weekend in a 1-0 win against Southampton (Transfermarkt).

The 27-year-old has racked up 30 appearances for Morocco too (Transfermarkt), and featured in four games for his country at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar as his side reached the semi-finals of the tournament.

Less than a year into his tenure at West Ham, Aguerd is already attracting attention from elsewhere, and the latest report from Jeunes Footeux suggests Tottenham would be eager to bring the player across London to solve their defensive issues.

Apparently, the Lilywhites have been looking at Aguerd “closely” and are considering a move for the centre half.

It is thought Aguerd would bring the “stability” that is needed to fix the “fragile” back line at Spurs.

This report emerges as doubts remain over Clement Lenglet, who is currently on loan from Barcelona for the season.

According to Jeunes Footeux, Lenglet is “likely” to leave Spurs at the end of the season.

There is a catch to the pursuit of Aguerd, however, as the report notes it is “difficult to imagine he could be let go for less than €55 – 60 million (£48m-£53m).”

Whether Spurs would be willing to pay that much remains to be seen.

Spurs Web Opinion

Aguerd has looked solid whenever he has played this season and has adapted to Premier League football really well.

Whether he is worth the kind of money quoted in the report is hard to say as he has been here for less than a year, and there are other, more proven options that would probably cost a little less.
Absolutely not

Would be so Spurs to get rid of wingbacks after they heavily invested the last couple of windows
