now this is our last chance to sell Sonnnnn
To be honest I wouldn't be too upset to see him stick it out for the rest of his contract, I think there's serious questions over his longevity at the top level after this season with regards to his value, even if he has been played in the wrong role, his marketability is also a factor but I think I'd be happy to have him rotating (emphasis on ROTATING) with another left sided player, possibly Gil who I really like and can see a bright future for, but I do think we need to be in a position not to have to rely on him, he's not gonna be the player he was last season ever again IMO. He hasn't really got the talents to convert to a deeper role, once his pace goes he's done at a Spurs level club. That shouldn't be for another year or two yet but it's gonna be a steady decline.

He has a lot he could impart on the young players though, and well liked, a good figure to have in the dressing room. He's copped a lot of flak this season including from me but I love the fucking guy, he will go down as one of our greatest ever players. And fucking loyal to boot, signed a new contract when massive clubs like Bayern came sniffing around committing his best years to us. I feel like he deserves payment in kind on that one.

Depends on price. Both doing a good job at Milan. Again not the tallest of defenders. Does it matter? I don’t know. Would be a massive upgrade on our defence but I wouldn’t pay over £30m for any of them, which probably wouldn’t be enough.
Saying that Tomori was doing a good job is a bit of a stretch in my opinion. He was shocking all season until the moment that they faced us in the Champions League. His disasterclass against Lazio at the Olimpico is noteworthy. He looks to be a bit of a confidence player, which isn't what we need.

Kalulu is incredible though, I'd take him at Spurs in a heartbeat.

No. This has been the problem with us, keeping hold of players for far too long.

It's the perfect moment to sell Son. He's regained a bit of form, but you can still see that he's not even close to the player he used to be. If we can get 35-40M for a 30 (soon to be 31) year old player we've absolutely stolen one.

I’d hope that the one thing we don’t do is actually try and replace him, as in like for like. It doesn’t exist.

It would be nice to see us bring some genuine pace into the side. The player that flopped in the PL that surprised me was Timo Werner.

Anyway, it’s going to be fucking brutal, either way. Look at the Chavs. However many billions spent and they can’t buy a goal.

With some sensical and consistent Prem quality offensive coaching I think all of our players will perform better.

If Kane goes I'm happy to see Richarlison battle it out alongside another young and dynamic striking talent. If Kane stays then I'm excited to see what kind of a real attack could be built around him.

None of this is ever going to go perfectly well. We need to be bold and willing to take chances in pursuit of our vision.

Toney with his case hanging over his head doesn't seem like the right option for us right now.

We need a Spurs-Ockham-razor. Anyone not worth having here in 4 years out
We really don't.

If Kane stays we still have the best player in the league. If he leaves we rebuild around Son and Richarlison up top and a midfield with Bissouma and Bentancur given the lead roles.

We have to invest heavily in defenders and we have to get a coach who changes the pattern of play. We don't have to rip everything up, and the stuff about being the new Everton is complete horseshit.

It’s pretty simple what needs to happen this summer but i have no doubt Levy will do the bare minimum as per usual. We need a top GK, 2 x top CB’s and a creative attacking midfielder like Maddison. Udoggie coming next season gives us strength LWB. Get these players in as well as keeping Kane, I actually think we will be excellent. We need to sort out that disgusting defence massively otherwise it’s pointless next season

Keeper needs to be able to play out from the back and hit players. Need more composure on the ball back there, as much as anything else. Our current lot fall to pieces under even a minor press.

It’s all very well outlining what we need to bring in but our biggest problem is the inability to get rid of the dross & deadwood that’s been holding us back for years & really has come home to roost this season. We hold onto bang average players for far too long & unless we manage to offload the vast majority this summer, we won’t have the funds to bring in the players that we want as ENIC certainly won’t be putting their hands in their pockets.

It's as important as the Dier upgrade. Keeper and CB are the two positions we can't afford to miss on. Let's say Pickford/Sanchez, a Botman-level CB and good coach, that's worth 10 points next year.

I lost faith in the prospect of a team built around Son. Too inconsistent

He won the Golden Boot last season.
This season he has been asked to drop back to try and protect incompetent wing backs and receive the ball from a centre back with his back to goal. Basically told him to stop doing the things he is great at and do all the things he is bad at instead.
Once we stop all that nonsense he will be fine.

Precisely.

Son receiving the ball with his back to goal, halfway inside his own half, surrounded by defenders, is a potential disaster. Every single time.

Son on the shoulder of the last defender, able to run in behind, is a potential goal. Every single time.

For the second goal yesterday, Sonny exploited Alexander-Arnold's inability to track attackers, Romero spotted his run and delivered an accurate through ball. A couple of excellent touches later, the ball was in the back of the net.

Conte played Son 10-20 metres too deep because of his stupid tactical system, and this made it very difficult for us to build any attacks as they would break down when we passed into Sonny with his back to goal.
