I feel absolutely horrendous saying this but if it really is an £85m base with add-ons taking it closer to £100m, we better take it, and I’m sorry but it’s actually better for the club’s future if Kane does go.

Perisic can reliably find a half step of space from a defender to deliver a cross, but I'm not sure he can get past them the way Solomon does. But yeah, he's been very impressive in pre-season.Him & Perisic...... Shame he's not a little younger.
People are really not considering the future of the situation here too. Keeping an unhappy player who has not indicated he will sign a new contract is a much bigger distraction than we’d think. He’s not just a player, he’s our talisman and basically IS Tottenham Hotspur. There’s no chance that it won’t negatively impact Ange, the squad and our season.
And I guarantee you seeing him at at another PL club, be it United, City, or god forbid the Chavs or Scum (I have hope he wouldn’t do it but you never know)… knowing that we got £0 for him? That will sting a fuck ton.

It increasingly looks like we've been following that MO,, and the time since the Bavarian brass(es) showed up in London has been used to decide which targets we're going to sign now we know the amount of money they'll be sending our way for Kane.
In other words, the deal was agreed in broad principle earlier in the week, but we asked for a few days pause to attempt to seal transfers for the likes of VDV2, Veliz, maybe Orban, and potentially one or two others still under the radar.
We shall see if there's any last minute meddling from you know who....

I can't see us getting both Olise and Eze in (esp since both with Palace), but assume your logic is we go with multiple forwards and reduce reliance on conventional centre forward after Kane.
Tosin and Tapsoba in suggests we want VDV to spend some of his time as LB - maybe a good way to introduce a young CB to PL
