To be fair, none of us really know if Boehly's methods will succeed or fail. I'm already starting to think at least some of what he's done is pretty creative - certainly no one else has come up with a way of spending a billion in a few months and staying within FFP.

I am genuinely intrigued to see how this plays out for Boehly, medium and long term. Could end up really fucking badly - especially if the Saudis lose interest in European footballers (but I don't think they will for a while) - or it could be a fucking master stroke.
Hard to see how it's going to pay off. For example, they have spent 288m on 5 CMs when they already have Gallagher and their manager only plays 2 and, as we know, he rarely rotates his 1st 11.

How are those players going to progress and increase value?

They can loan some out, as 3 are 19, however, with only 6 outgoing over 21 loans allowed from next season, they will be betting on some of them increasing their value in the next couple of years, but it's not like they didn't overpay to get them.

Who says Poch wants any of this?

Remember when Nagelsmann and Enrique ran for the hills the second they actually had real conversations with Chelsea about the club's plans?

I'm telling you, Boehly thinks filling up every inch of FFP space with young talents who they have under control of long-term contracts is some genius gambit that is going to turn the league on its head.
Fuck Boehly. Fcuk even more Pochettino and fcuk the PL for enabling Chelsea's sh!t.

It's the American sports (NFL/NBA) mentality. You defer payments as long as you can and assume by the time the bill comes due the rules will have changed and you'll be fine. Part of the problem with that is it often happens that players who appear to be the next big thing when they are signed don't pan out. This happens in football more than in the NFL and NBA. I know Timo Werner as touted as being a tremendous scorer and he faded fast, and there are many more examples.
FFP rules are one thing, but where the hell has all the money come from? Why are they pumping in a billion for no clear return?

Last season the club announced that there would be a 150m cash injection in order for us to compete. Loads thought that cash injection was in addition to the money that we had in the pot already for the summer.

The club proceeded to have a net spend of 131m. So with a 150m cash injection in addition to our allocated summer transfer funds we somehow proceeded to spend less then the cash injection.

The board then came out with a statement stating we had spent 200m (I assume they were including the Porro and Kulu fees).

When they inevitably screw us over again I hope they don't have the audacity to include them in this seasons spend in order to justify how utterly pathetic they have been again.

We'll see what happens between now and the end of next month, but it doesn't appear we've signed anyone on loan with obligation to buy this window. Should take some of the ambiguity out moving forward.

Plus, just to note, while he is obviously Canada’s best forward, he was definitely not that at the World Cup.

In matchday 3 of the group stage vs Morocco, a must-win match for Canada to advance…

Canada selected Cyle Larin (MLS) and Junior Hoilett over him in attack.

That’s right, in a must-win do or die match at the World’s biggest stage, when the chips were down and Canada needed goals, they benched Jonathan David and brought him on as a sub.
Why don’t we just get Orban for €30M give him a chance with son abd rich in central role. Then soend smartly next transfer window. Get another CB in this window. Sounds like David’s would be a lot of money and a big risk.

We ended up only using 100m of the cash injection, for some reason.
