Same fans complaining that we went for the "cheap option" in Vicario now suddenly have an issue when we choose to spend money, make it make sense.

Nick Young Wtf GIF
They are complaining about spending big on shite players. Not spending big money in general.

Skipp, for me has a way to get to the level Hjojberg can sometimes avhieve.
Skipp is a much more progressive player than Hojbjerg, the rest will come with experience. Hojbjerg is beyond training the cautiousness and ponderousness out of his game, he will only ever be a 6/10 midfielder and very, very rarely has a performance that changes the outcome of a game. Bissouma vs United is objectively a better game of football than Hojbjerg has ever played in his entire career.

So the price of a player doesn't matter if you win things.

Got it
I’m going to say yes, if we won the CL, PL and FA cup last season and then the opening 3 games of the season and the club announced it was spending £100m on Harry Maguire - I honestly would think “they know what they are doing - last season proved that”

When you win one league cup in 23 years and have a track record of buying pure liquid shit half the time it does make a difference

Skipp is in no way progressive. Hojbjerg is a better player than Skipp.

We don't need one. We have Skipp, Sarr and Bissouma to fill those roles and Bentancur back fit by Jan. Do we really need 5 players for 2 places?

Bissouma and Sarr will be at AFCON and there is always the chance that Bentancur has a setback, we should not be relying on him this season. It’s a plausible worst case scenario that in January Skipp might be our only available central midfielder. That’s simply negligent.

We need to at least bring someone on a loan just to beef up that area. I can’t think of many top teams that only have 4 midfielders in their squad.

It's funny how so many players got excused for poor performances because the fans didn't like the coach, but PEH apparently isn't allowed that protection.
If he goes to a team we will, guaranteed, be tussling with all season, he will improve them compared to what they've got.
He will put in 6 or 7 out of 10 every match, all season. It's not about whether we get worse if he goes, he will improve them and we should be a little concerned about that.,
As long as united are paying a United Tax let them have him

I'm sorry, did I say it wasn't?

I haven't got an issue with us spending 50m on Johnson?
The original point is that City fans don’t give a fuck about spending however much it takes to bring Doku in - they know they are winning trophies this season and he is likely to play some part in that.

They were going to spend £88m on Paqueta until the betting stuff came out. Is he worth that - absolutely not in my opinion, but if I’ve just seen us win the 3 biggest prices and start the season with a 100% record then I’m not saying shit about Whether who we buy is worth it - the club knows what it is doing.

With Spurs though - one league cup in 23 years - we can question everything right down to what side of the bed slap head wakes up on in the morning because he tends to balls a lot of footballing decisions up

Skipp is in no way progressive. Hojbjerg is a better player than Skipp.

I think this is probably quite accurate.

Skipp's improvement, should it happen takes him to where Hjojberg is, would be ny opinion.

Not sure either are quite good enough if we want to be a top 4 team. Neither yet is Sarr but he may (only may) have a higher ceiling. Not sure yet.

We need one more in there and better than Skipp and Hjojberg with best respect to both, as they give what they have.
