If we aren’t signing both centre halves then it’s a big season for Romero

I’ve never seen what the fuss is about with him but no European football means he should be able to stay fit and hopefully show us all why he’s so rated
We do over rate him but I think a CBs partner makes a big difference on how good they look. So a fair test will be him playing with a good CB. Maybe he won’t feel he has to do so much all by himself & make rash decisions. I think he gets a pass a lot because he gets stuck in.

So in what order would you rate our CBs?
Romero....pfft
Dier
Royal
Davies
Rodon
Sanchez
Tanganga
Romero
Dier
Sanchez
Davies
Royal
Tanganga
Rodon

ROMERO
THE OTHERS

Lenglet and Davies were better than Romero last season imo. Romero was a disgrace, his attitude and commitment to the club that pays his wages was insulting and he clearly prioritised playing for Argentina.
I would be happy if we sold him this summer but I’m prepared to give him another chance to see if his attitude improves under new management

Last season wasn’t the question.

That worked well twice before, I guess.
We spent stupid money on Ndombele, a player who had been criticised by pretty much every coach he has ever had for having an attitude problem and being lazy. Then we spent stupid money on Sanchez, a player who at that point had only played one season in Europe (at Ajax).

They were examples of poor recruitment not a reflection on what £60m can get you.
