I'm struggling to see a scenario where they don't want 80-odd million for him.
I reckon 50-60 would bring him, Brentford are certainly one of the poorer PL clubs and invest a lot of confidence in their player targeting and acquisition, plus they'd know if a big 6 club came in its a massive uphill battle to keep him. He's contracted til 2025 but his wages are peanuts.
The big issue is if he ends up doing a 2 Yr ban or similar for betting irregularities, can't see anyone going for him with investigation ongoing.

Forgot the betting thing, but on spec we're talking about:

HG
Well-rounded, Prem-proven ST
Easily 20 goals a season in a top team (he's on 14 EPL goals this season already!).
Demon penalty taker.

......I'm not saying he's beyond our finances, but as crazy as the money is getting; I think the OG asking price may be a bit of a breath-taker.

He’d still be worth it. Absolute class player. I did forget about the ban when I posted. But I’ve wanted him for 18 months. He’s got it all.

It may prove extremely impractical.

Timing being a factor; we could blow a shit-load on him in the summer and then not see him kick a ball for 2 years and he'd be a rusty as fuck 28 year old with no mojo left and we'd meanwhile have a huge whole in the squad.

You just KNOW that if we bought him before his case was resolved the worst case scenario would pre-vail the moment the ink dried...... Sod's Spurs Law.

I'd argue that neither of the two mentioned have had time to properly imbed themselves in the team. The contrast between their form at previous clubs, and Spurs really is quite perplexing.

Of course there have been extenuating factors; but just goes to show..... Even so-called 'safe' signings don't always move the needle.

Yea, they were two players I was expecting to hit the ground running. Not getting meaningful minutes hardly helps with that.

I know nothing about Alex Scott, but from what people have said he sounds very exciting. Does seem to be exactly the type of player that Conte would have live on the bench though.

Age/experience: yeh; but in terms of skill-set he sounds absolutely ideal for us right now.
