That he was sacked for mentioning a professional GK who plays for the Colombian u-23 and who every scout on the planet is aware of.
A scout doing any media without express permission from the club is a sackable offense in some(I would guess 99% of really professional) sports. Then name-checking a player and the club in the same sentence?

Doesn't matter if everyone knows the player, he's not a pundit or an ex-player, he's a club employee and if he hadn't made sure he was good to go, it's not a shock in any way that he lost his job.

The spendthrifts and the twats will say spend spend spend but whilst we need to go into the transfer market for some players of objective quality, what we need more than anything is a manager of substance,.

Someone maybe with it all to prove and a style of playing that is symptomatic of our club and to our motto.

Conte has been as painfully poor as his predecessor in my opinion. All machismo in his demeanour and comment but who oversees timidity and incoherence.

Moving forward we need to get the right managerial appointment, to be in a position to back them sufficiently and to let them lead us to something better than the unfortunate constancy of inglorious failure.

Sacked for appearing on media w/o authorization is a completely different thing than being sacked for what he said on (said) media, specifically 'revealing' a transfer target, don't ya think?

I'd also suggest the manager should not come in relying upon 'his system only' but be flexible enough to use the players who are at Spurs now.

And to be prepared to give youngsters a chance (Sarr and Skipp have showed its a very viable idea) whilst working with others to ensure academy products are developed properly which may well include a succession of loans (versus White on bench for 18 months with about 15 minutes played, added to the Spence situation).

Of course the squad needs improvement, but in practice bringing more than 4-6 players in is not practical (as Chelsea have found) : its a question of getting in players with the desire to win and energy as well as technical ability.

The 4 Key players to bring in this summer should be :

GK - Lloris replacement
2 x CB's including a Sanchez replacement
Son replacement (or alternative) who can score and create.

After that the priorities may be less clear, but we might need another LWB in addition to Destiny Udoggie. As ever we have a shortage of HG players built up over years so it would be sensible if one or more incomings fitted that criteria as well.

Conversion of Kulusevski's loan to permanent signing goes without saying as should offloading permanently many of those loaned out.

Our CEO is a tiny, bald introvert lacking basic leadership skills so manager needs to be someone bold, pushy and brave to counter the dwarfs continued failings….. someone who can galvanise the club, players and all staff - motivate everyone to offset the failings of the underperforming but best paid chairman in the world

We're aiming for free signings like Zaha, that sums up Levy's approach to transfers.

Free over right players.
Zaha wouldn’t be a bad signing in place of Moura for say a 2 year contract. At least he’s HG.

Squad management is very much an issue. It’s all very well saying get rid of Tanganga, Davies and Forster.

Our squad is at (and beyond) the non-HG limit . We can’t just get rid of these guys and replace them with overseas players. Presumably, we’ll bring Spence back but paying for two decent HG players ( let’s say at CB and GK will cost a mint — and they probably won’t be as good as their potential overseas counterparts). Maybe bringing in Zaha rather than Danjuma lets us get N’Dicka rather than Guehi

I genuinely think Spurs need to blow it up. Obviously it starts with new ownership, but regardless there needs to be a rebuild.

The following current squad members just need to be out of this club for us to move forward:

Hugo
Dier
Sanchez
Sessegnon
Tanganga
Moura

Then we have all the players on loan. Of which the following need to just be finally sold:

Ndombele
Winks
Lo Celso
Rodon
Reguilon

Finally we have to really consider what we should do with Son and Richy if this form continues and decent offers come our way.

Now the reality is we'll be lucky to sell even half of these. Some might just have to be released. But these players (Son and Richy aside) are rotting the club. Too many bad memories with them. Hugo has of course been great for us, but his time is up now.

I'm fine with Davies staying as a squad player, but he absolutely should not be starting anymore. Buy an LCB of quality.

Anyway, I can but dream that at least half of the above list is out of here in a few months.

There's a method to the madness here.....

Zaha (HG) & Ndicka (+ HG Raya if he'll come) for free

vs

Geuhi (HG) & Danjuma for in the region of 70/80m

.........Makes a lot of sense IF it means we can go for HIGH quality starters in the remaining needy positions.

Still don't want Zaha though. :(

(If WH go down, could we perhaps resurrect HG Bowen of previous seasons?)
