Bastoni as Lenglet upgrade

I'm sure I read somewhere that Conte said young Italian (& perhaps Spanish) players shouldn't leave the country of their birth until their mid-20s. He was banging on about the need for emotional stability & family etc.

Given the way things have turned out, with Conte now back in Italy with his own family, I think we're fortunate not to have Bastoni and particularly Zaniolo burning a hole in our salary budget.

Whoever takes over will already have to deal with the likes of Tanguy, GLC, Reguilon on loan & seemingly unwanted etc etc.

Not shy of contradicting himself then is he......?

I think Conte was astounded when Bastoni turned him/Spurs down in the summer as Bastoni had acknowledged that Conte's coaching was a major reason for Bastoni becoming a good LCB - might have had a bearing on why he was relatively dismissive of the summer signings, 'No Bastoni, no Party'

This probably means Ndicka has agreed a contract with another club, hence him not agreeing to Eintracht's offer

Ndicka
No that's does not follow . He made it clear he wants to move clubs. His people have spoken Spurs, Arse, Chavs and a host of continental clubs. They are just butt hurt at him want to leave them

Intresting you go that far I wouldn't but I'll tell you this, with the exception of Gravidol I haven't see one pure LCB that I think is good. They are all flawed Hincapie hugely Bastoni Torres and Ndicka to a great and lesser extent. The one that I've always thought was worth the shout was Lacroix. Who Franckfurt are look at to replace N'dicka. He had a dip but the raw material is there.

Pretty much new he wanted out on a free anyway.

All it means is that they've given up hope.....

Sulking sounds about right.

We were linked 2 summers ago and everyone was excited..... Then a new flavour of the month came onto the horizon and barely heard a peep about him here since. If he's re-found his lustre; surely we can trump Frankfurt in the trf market.....?

Not fussed about Bastoni tho'..... The few times I've watched him he's been pretty crap... The only appeal was the whole Conte/Mentor connection and seemingly he wasn't overtly keen to resume that relationship.

There is better, cheaper left footed alternatives to Bastoni anyway:

David Hancko (24 yrs old, Feyenoord)
Micky Van de Ven (21 yrs old, Wolfsburg)

I want to recommend to everyone: watch any Feyenoord game you can before the end of the season. They're still in the Europa League. Their LCB David Hancko is literally a regeneration of Vertonghen. His passing range is excellent and has some of the best statistics for an LCB in Europe right now. Best defender in Eredivisie
