Anyone familiar with the Bundesliga who can give a short appraisal on the pros and cons of Schlotterbeck and Lacroix ?
First, Schlotty is a leftie whereas Lacroix is right-footed.

Both young but decent experience already...circa 100 top flight games each, plus Schlotty's now playing regularly for Germany.

Both tall, both solid in duels...Lacroix probably the more robust one of the two but not by much.

Schlotty scores a decent amount of goals and gets good assists for a defender...4 and 5 respectively that season just gone. Lacroix got just the one goal but he played like 10 fewer games cause of injury.

About injuries, bar the bad one he had to his shoulder this season, Lacroix is usually always fit. On the other hand, Schlotty has had a fair few muscle injuries, so that's a concern.

Verdict:

- Both would be decent signings on paper, but not the absolute beast we desperately need (even if we keep Romero)

- Schlotty plays for Dortmund, they're in the CL...he'd cost like 50 or 60 mil and I don't think he'd move to the PL for us. Not sure I'd want him anyway...feels like the new Mertesacker...

- Lacroix would be cheaper (30 mil ish) cause he's been injured and he plays for a smaller team, he'd defo be keen on joining us I reckon...but I'd pass

As i said several pages earlier im quite suprised levy didnt see this as a meal ticket but we dont seem interested, Aston Villa are the english club showing most interest supposedly:ange-bored2:

Looks like PSG saw the meal ticket first. When they come in, usually the offer is more than anyone else wants to match.

In fairness, the player would definitely be a good signing but it's not like he's the only good target in that position

Have you watched much of Tapsoba in the Bundes?

Looked really good in the Europa game I watched.

The German LCB I'd be watching is Thiaw at Milan. Maybe they could be persuaded to cash in.

And Tapsoba whilst you are there.

All 3 could be decent targets
Tapsoba is a year older, about the same height but more powerful, he's right-footed but can play on the left.

Schlotterbeck is a better defender and better all-round player. Tapsoba is more on par with Lacroix - especially his offensive output (poor) - but I reckon the hype would mean he'd cost Schlotty money...if not more.

Injuries a wee concern (had a bad one in 2021), but also the fact that whenever the AFCON would come round he'd be missing like a month possibly.

Definitely a good player, but I'm not sure we should be spending that kind of cash on him. I'm getting Davinson Sanchez v2.0 vibes...

But we act like a poundshop outfit on the brink of bankruptcy. Looking for a bargain here and a knock off there.

No wonder Woolwich and Chelsea fans love Daniel Levy and want ENIC to stay
Oooooooooh John my man you gonna have to deal with the Evidence & Facts Master for that post of yours...our dearly beloved LP.

He's just getting his instructions from Uncle Dan, be right with you.
