But he can't run. He can't press and coughs up the ball a lot. Playing somewhere in youth football in Italy is not really a basis for assuming he's going to work in a completely different (high energy) tactical approach in the PL.

Everything we've been told suggests Postecoglou doesn't use 10's, and there's no fucking way Kulusevski has the all round game to play as an 8.
He wasn't playing for Parma youth.

He can press, he is the best presser in our front line bar Richarlison. He also won more tackles last season than anyone in Celtic's front line, so imagine what he could do in a team with a functional press.

I would say, whilst he isn't that quick, he can definitely run and showed that in his first half season with us, but the whole squad looked like plodders last season and I'm putting that to an awful fitness regime.

One of the 8s spends a lot of the time in and around the box (mostly the the sides of it too, rather than central), in fact Kulusevski made many more touches in our own half, than either Celtics 8s did in their own half.

That's a bit tallest pigmy in the village syndrome though, no? Have you got any actual metrics that back that up.

Let's definitely not buy their front line...

It's more a fast walk really.

Isn't that because Celtic mostly played in the oppo's half and we mostly played in ours? I'm being serious.

Just my eyes for this season, as Fbref no longer feature this stat (probably do if you pay) but last season he was in the 97th percentile for pressures per 90 (stats in article below).

Yes, Celtic playing in oppo's half is a part of the reason, however it is how we will look to play under Postecoglu.

Its Happening Ron Paul GIF

I couldn‘t really blame him for wanting to leave after all the booing directed at him. I still think it was awful shitty to do to him even though he’s just not good enough for what we need.

I want that kid, he did really well in the Champo and looks ready for the Prem, plus yeah he's a Spurs fan, good mates with Alfie, HG quota etc.

But if Bristol really are after 30mil for him, that's one situation where I'm totally cool with Danny boy telling them to get real or get stuffed. You don't pay crazy money like that for a 19yo who's got one solid season in the Champo under his belt. That's how you end up with the new Sessegnon. Come on now.

12 mil up front plus say 3 or 4 in bonuses with a wee percentage on future sale. Send them a couple of our kids on loan too. That's a solid, reasonable deal for a kid who very probably would spend most his first season with us coming off the bench for garbage time.

Funny that we had this situation a few years ago with Jack Greilish. We offered 20m for a Championship player. It was turned down and we didn't progress.

Of course, he turned out to be pretty decent, but for every 1 that goes on to be good, another 100 don't.

Been a lot of good stories coming out today with regards to clearing out the squad:

> official announcements of Danjuma and Lenglet leaving at the end of their loans
> Sanchez apparently up for sale (don't underestimate the importance of him wanting to go, too, given how difficult some buggers have been to get off the books)
> ditto Dier

Things seem to be ramping up, which is no surprise given that realistically we needed the new manager nailed down before calling the shots on those decisions. Hopefully more murmurs before the weekend?

I just think he got figured out pretty quickly after his first stint second half of last season.

He's incapable of running past anyone and staying past. If you show him outside, he's mostly ineffective, his main trick is cut inside and curl a shot or cross, with very mixed results. He bumbles away a lot of possession, and he may press more than Kane/Son, but that's really not hard.

Last year when we hit a decent bit of form, playing mostly on the counter, when we could get overloads on the break, he did OK, but as I said, teams learnt how to play us/him this year and he was very poor in a lot of games, and I don't think he's going to get those same scenarios with Postecoglou.

I really think there's better attacking players we can spend money on.

So today's news summed up.

Sanchez and Dier likely to leave
Lenglet no longer on the team but might be bought back
Kulu being finalized for £25m
Hojbjerg rumoured as a target for Bayern
Maddison and Barnes targets but no bids
Raya in the works

Honestly for being so early in the window, I like what we are hearing.

raya for 30 or below
maddison and barnes for 65 or below
kulu in for 25
then go and get 2 CB's, if it costs 60m so be it.

that would be a tidy summer imo. worst ways 180 outlay (or 200 with udogie) , would surely pull in close to 100 with all the outs.

See, I'd actually think it'd be worth giving him a look over in preseason (if no decent bids came in). but there were those rumours that he wasn't particularly liked in the dressing room...
I would absolutely bring Lo Celso into preseason if he wants to be here, especially if Perisic leaves this summer.

Wasn't the rumor that he was 'rude to the staff' or some shit?

I don't think he's particularly confident in his English. I may be misremembering, but it seems like he barely did any of the club vid/promo/socials while he was here. He seems like a quiet guy, even in his native tongue.

I dunno, he's well-liked by the Messi-Argentina team, and if Pochettino vouched for him, you'd think he's not a total prick.

At his best, he's a tidy, busy little bastard who can play in several positions and chip-in on some goals + assists.

This chump cost us 50 million. We were sold a dud; and he's only valued at 14m now. I'd rather give Winks a go than this fool.

The Argentine’s are all cunts so of course they like him. Look at Romero ffs.

And lo celso sucks rhino cock. Most pathetic striker of a ball I’ve ever seen. Can’t even pass 10 yards without under hitting it.
