Makes no sense to me , that logic implies we might pay 40 million if he had 3 years left .

So what is better paying 40 million for the player we want or 30 million for one not as good . The one year bit only works if the selling club really want to sell , should we take a crap bid for Kane because he only has a year left , most certainly not . Brentford are doing the right thing for their club and I don’t blame them .

If Raya is the guy we should get the deal done, not haggle over a scenario where if we were in their shoes ( Kane) we would say jog on .

However Levy always believes he can buy low and sell high , evidence indicates he can’t . Still only 23 years though so hope remains
It's not about the extra 10 mil, it's about not allowing ourselves to get rinsed by any team the same way United and Chelsea typically get rinsed. Even City pulled out of the Cucrella deal when they deemed Brighton's demand to be unreasonable, so it's not just us.

As for Brentford, they have already signed Raya's replacement, so yeah, they need to sell.

summarize.tech summary for: Tottenham's Postecoglou transfer plans, James Maddison, David Raya and what they're looking for Instant AI summary

00:00:00 - 01:00:00

Tottenham is prioritizing strengthening their defense by finding a new goalkeeper and bringing in two center-backs. David Raya from Brentford is the top candidate for goalkeeper, but the club may need to consider other options if Brentford does not lower their asking price of £40 million. The team is also searching for experienced and young center-backs who can play crisply under pressure and have the ability to play a higher line. Offloading current defenders may be challenging due to their high wages, but the team may offer Eric Dier a new contract to avoid losing him for free next summer. The team is also in search of a central attacking midfielder who can play in both a 4-3-3 and a 4-2-3-1 and a young winger. Potential signings under new manager Nuno Espirito Santo include James Maddison from Leicester City.

01:00:00 - 01:30:00

The search for an attacking midfielder who can play in a 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1 formation is a priority for Tottenham, with James Maddison being a prime target due to his impressive numbers. Tottenham is also interested in Alex Scott from Bristol City, but competition for him is expected to be stiff. Tottenham is looking for a young winger like Brian Hill to complement their current forward players, and Harvey Barnes, Madison, or Raya are all possible targets. The focus is also on the potential transfer of Harry Kane, with Real Madrid not appearing to match the desired figure for him. Tottenham has strong options in terms of strikers, including Richarlison and Son. The hope is that Tottenham can secure early transfers for Madison and Raya to lay the foundation for Postecoglou's system.

At the price they are willing to sell at, now sort Levy’s toe nails out

Welcome to Spurs. ...Ange Postecogolou

At least he will deal with it. Something that can't be said about some posters on here.

FYI I've been of the opinion that Bissouma wasn't great the season before we purchased him, felt like he had declined somewhat and it was a good time for Brighton to sell him and when we bought him it didn't exactly tingle my balls hence my disappointed he was one of the supposedly 'big' signings we made.

1 hour 33 minutes of Ally talking.

Will I watch it all?

Just going off something he said in the first 20 minutes - we should expect to see a CB outgoing before we see an incoming. One would imagine that the sooner we find a buyer for Sanchez, the better.

Big takeaway… despite all the stories out there, Spurs are prioritizing fixing up the defense.

So all the attacking player links are probably coming from agents

My comment here got a laugh emoji from Shotgunofmichalebrow Shotgunofmichalebrow so I thought I’d elaborate.

Sonny has been a true legend of this club and an unreal player at times, but when we talk about this club having no clear strategy, any desire to “laugh” about significant offers for Sonny is part of the problem.

As a club we need to be laser focused on building a side in the next 2 years under Ange that we truly believe can challenge for honours in 25 onwards. Short-termism has caused so many of our problems over the last few years, it’s bled into managerial appointments, transfer strategy and it’s made us a club that basically has treadmilled in the 3-6 position.

Son was terrible last season, truly terrible. His inability to control and protect the ball under any sort of pressure massively contributed to our poor performances.

That might have been because of injury or the Conte system, but there’s more than a decent chance at his age and being so reliant on acceleration and off-ball running his best days are behind him. If he has another season like he did this year, we won’t get much for him next summer at all.

You hoped we had learned about cashing out at the right time as a club.

I’m not definitely saying we should sell Son, I think those that watch him in training need to decide that. But to think it’s a laughable concept is an indication of why this club has failed to move forward over the last 5 years.
You have no idea what kind of laugh escaped my sculptured lips.

It could been a Super villan laugh, with my fingers arched.
"BWAH HA HA HA HA!! (As you lot finally come round to my way of thinking)
Or an incredulous laugh that escaped with bewildered incredulity.
'HA..HUH"

This my young Padwan is the power and obscurity of the emoji!!!!!!!
